Packers Extend Lee

I don’t usually comment on every little bit of contract news, since you have many other excellent (i.e. better) resources to turn to when it comes to that sort of thing, but upon reading that the Packers have extended the contract of Donald Lee, I’d like to take the opportunity to make a larger point.
I’d like to address all the Packer fans that whine about Thompson and call him “Tight Wad Teddy” and all that rot. The Lee signing is perfect example of Thompson’s philosophy at work. He got Lee for a song, and will no doubt reap bigger benefits from this signing than what the Broncos will get from the ridiculous contract they gave to Daniel Graham. Is Graham a good player? Yes. Is he worth what the Broncos paid him? No.
Just remember this next off-season when Thompson isn’t throwing stupid money at average to above average players.
