Packers Express Interest In Canty

Now it gets interesting...

UPDATE: As suspected, Thompson is no doubt just gauging interest and making calls. Canty is reported to be visiting the Giants this weekend and the Seahawks on Monday. It would be a minor miracle if he was not signed before those visits come to an end...

Sporting News is reporting Canty and his agent are with the Redskins now. They've already signed Hayworth and are concidered Canty's choice by Sproting News. Please be wrong, please!

Gee the Skins had less Cap money than the Packers. How could that be?

To make me more depressed here's a link to Greg Bedard's Blog today.

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/packers.html

CC Harris - (S-Texans), Tony Curtis - (TE - Dallas), and Napoleon Harris - (ILB - ViQueens) are on the Packer Players of Interest list.

CC - maybe, but injury last year needs close review.

Tony Curtis (the old actor?) Actually, backup TE. Big and mean are his qualifications. The only RFA who didn't get a tender was Tory Humphries (TE). Does that have meaning?

Napoleon Harris Big and Bedard says could be a backup. Errrrrr! Aren't we looking for starting help in at least some of the Front Seven positions?

I sincerely hope Bedard's source is a functional illiterate.

Doesn't sound good for our (change we can believe in) 3-4. Guess I printed all those YES WE CANTY posters too soon.

I'll reserve judgment until all the chips fall (or don't fall). I'm not as high on the existing defensive talent as some, but as Michael Corleone says...I'm 'gonna wait.

They did indeed. Very interested to see what Tampa gave up.

"According to the National Football Post’s Joe Fortenbaugh, the Ravens are trying to figure out a way to keep linebacker Ray Lewis in town. With the imminent signing of Bart Scott in New York — which we reported this morning — the Ravens can ill afford to lose Lewis."

Hey, I got one right! Told you Ryan was gonna make a move for Scott. We all were concerned about the Jets cap situation but you just knew Ryan wanted some of his old boys. This is like winning a hand in Las Vegas - just keeps you coming back

I thought the bucs only wanted young talent...

At least Winslow will be of even a bigger value for next years FF.

Saw that - and it will be a minor miracle if he's still on the market. This is Canty's agent using GB's interest to drive up the price...

I was laughing too at the Packers players of interest in the Bedard blog today. I could not believe this guy or the Packers are even serious and are trying to sell us on this crap.
Go sell crazy somewhere else.

Why is it crazy to be interestedin a safety who has played for Capers before and a blocking tight end? These are good things.

I wish you were wrong on Canty Aaron, but I'm afraid you're not. Bummer! CC - As I understand it he shattered bones in his arm. Is there any long-term issue with that?

Curtis - was a backup for awhile. Why hasn't he started more regularly? I like the blocking part too.

Naps - Give me a break. Not an upgrade to what we have and that's not saying a lot for him.

Sorry I`m looking for leaders on my defense. That is what we do not have and we are not going to get it through FA or the draft now. Gimmie something to believe in. Not a blocking TE or a S with a broke dick arm and it most certainly isnt going to come from a damn Viqueen.

hey how come Ted Tompson has not gone after a defensive lineman and to replace colon cole and a cornerback and go after defensive end kyle moore from usc in the first round in the draft. If he dosn't like his job i can take that for him I MEAN I already have a better plan then he does. Its called meet with defensive cordanator(good job on that thanks to him being guided.) and find out what he needs and it would look simulier to the list I have in front of you. Get off your dead a** and do some work ted tompson instead of letting people go. thanks your future genrial manager STEPHEN KOLB.
