Green Bay Packers tight end Ryan Taylor was fined $21,000 by the NFL for his block on Randall Cobb's 28-yard punt return on Nov. 4 against the Arizona Cardinals. "Taylor, a second-year tight end out of North Carolina known for his work on special teams, has a base salary of $465,000 this year, meaning the fine docks him approximately 4.5 percent of his earnings this season," writes Wes Hodkiewicz of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. It would be interesting to get the NFL's interpretation of the hit. An argument can be made that Taylor blocked Arizona's Rashad Johnson on the side, but Taylor also made an attempt to square up to his front. It was a punishing blow, but not one deemed illegal by the referees either.

During his weekly radio show on the ESPN Radio affiliate in Milwaukee, 540 AM WAUK, quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he's like to see offensive lineman Chad Clifton back in Green Bay in the wake of news that Bryan Bulaga has been placed on injured reserve. “I haven’t talked to ‘Cliff’ in a while, but I would guess he might be able to be lured from Nashville,” Rodgers said. Asked if he’d like to see the Packers try to lure Clifton back, Rodgers replied, “I love Cliff, so I would never not want to see him up here. We’ve had a lot of fun together and it would be good to see him back up here.” There's been no indication that the Packers are actually considering signing Clifton. Depending on the recovery of Derek Sherrod, it's conceivable that Clifton or even Mark Tauscher might be on the Packers' emergency list.

Aaron Rodgers also talked about Bryan Bulaga's injury and concussions to quarterbacks in the NFL on his radio show.

Aaron Rodgers and Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun helped to raise $60,000 for the families of victims of a recent shooting at a salon in Brookfield, Wis. that occurred on the same day as the Packers played the Rams on Oct. 21. "The group's co-owner, Omar Shaikh, says the proceeds go to the eight children left behind by the three women killed at Azana Salon & Spa in Brookfield," according to the Associated Press. Rogers and Braun donated items for auction for an event that was held on Monday evening.

Packers offensive linemen talked about Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh in an article published by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and T.J. Lang spoke about Suh's highlight-reel takedown of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler earlier this season. "I thought it was nasty. I didn't think there was anything dirty about it," Lang is quoted as saying by the Journal Sentinel. "When those guys get to the quarterback, they want to hit you and they want to hit you hard. I thought it was just a good, clean, hard hit. He didn't do anything illegal. So that's something you have to watch. Him, especially." Of particular attention this weekend will be the matchup between Suh and Evan Dietrich-Smith who will be in the Packers' starting lineup now that Bryan Bulaga is done for the season.
