Wrapping up Aaron Rodgers' fundraising appearance for the MACC Fund in Milwaukee on Tuesday, Lori Nickel of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel shared some information passed down from Rodgers to the audience. "I've been working out, getting myself into shape," said Rodgers. "If this drags in June, we're going to have to find a way to get together; other teams have been doing it a little bit." Previously Rodgers mentioned how logistics would prevent the Packers from conducting informal workouts. But it appears the longer the lockout occurs, the better chance there is of some sort of loose workout happening.

Packers Radio Network broadcaster Wayne Larivee described the scene at the charity fundraiser in a blog post at JSOnline. The event also included former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer. "The setting for the interview was a stage with two chairs," writes Larrivee. "No television cameras just an informal, potentially intimate conversation between Aaron and Trent.  The stuff you can’t get on TV.  Dilfer on his own is not just an analyst but a motivational speaker.  He spent about 15 somewhat entertaining minutes talking about his experiences before finally introducing the quarterback over 700 people had packed the Hyatt ballroom to see."

General manager Ted Thompson took in a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers minor league baseball game on Wednesday. "The Packers' Ted Thompson was taking in the game while [Brewers G.M.] Doug Melvin was taking in the performance of Austin Ross," reports WBAY-TV in Green Bay. I wonder what outfielder Thompson had his eye on as a potential defensive back. I say that only half in jest.

The Packers official website caught up with Glory Years era wide receiver Carroll Dale for a feature article. Dale is currently the assistant vice chancellor for the athletic department at the University of Virginia College at Wise. “For the most part, I’m raising money for our athletic department,” Dale told Packers.com. “It’s a pretty tough challenge. Over the last seven or eight years we’ve met our budget, which is $400,000. We’re an NAIA school, in the Mid-South Conference, and we offer about 24 full scholarships, but usually we break those up into partial scholarships.”

Potential trade candidates are discussed by Mike Davidsen at Green Bay Packer Nation. One of those candidates is quarterback Matt Flynn. "Impressive fill-in performances like that one against New England last December have tossed Matt Flynn's name into the hat of potential trade candidates," writes Davidsen. "A QB-needy team that comes up empty in both the draft and free agency might be willing to shell out top dollar for the former seventh round pick." The future of linebacker Nick Barnett is also discussed.
