Wide receiver James Jones hosted a youth football camp on Saturday in his native San Jose, Cal. It was notable for being free to its participants, a nod to Jones' childhood in which his family couldn't afford for him to attend football camps. "This is his dream," his wife Tamika Jones told the San Jose Mercury News. "He talked about it even when we were at San Jose State. He used to say, 'If I ever get to the NFL, I'm going to give something back to the community. And it's going to be free.' Defensive line coach Mike Trgovac was featured in an article published on the Packers official website on Saturday espousing the values of the 3-4 defense. “We’re not asked to be stars," said Trgovac. "We’re asked to do the grunt work. When you do your job right, those guys (linebackers) come free." Trgovac will have his work cut out for him helping the defensive line prepare for the assumed departure of Cullen Jenkins via free agency. Guys like Mike Neal and C.J. Wilson will have to take on much more prominent roles.

Defensive lineman Jay Ross, who signed a futures contract with the Packers after the 2010 season, took part as an instructor in former Packer Vonta Leach's youth football camp in Rowland, N.C. yesterday. "More than 200 players from ages 6 to 18 enjoyed free tutelage at the camp from National Football League players like Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson, Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Jay Ross, Kansas City Chiefs receiver Terrance Copper, (Sean) Locklear and Leach, who is also a Robeson County native," writes Sammy Batten of the Fayetteville Observer. Ross was on the practice squad of the Packers for much of last season.

Ken Herock, a former NFL personnel director with ties to the Packers, came away impressed after working with former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who is preparing for the NFL's Supplemental Draft in July. "Herock, the father of Packers assistant director of college scouting Shaun Herock and the man who traded Brett Favre to the Packers while he ran the Falcons, does not rehearse players for the interviews, but in one-on-one sessions with prospects, counsels them about meetings with club executives," writes Len Pasquarelli for Packer Report. "The bulk of his work occurs in the weeks preceding the annual February combine workouts."

Wide receiver Randall Cobb is the runaway winner from AllGreenBayPackers.com as the Packers most likely to be the team's Rookie of the Year.

The nationally televised games of the Packers in 2011 are noted by Mark Lawrence of Packer Chatters, although it's worth noting that while games with 3:15 p.m. start times on Sunday's aren't technically nationally televised, they will probably only compete with one other game at that time slot.
