Packers Daily Links: It's The Packers World, We're Just Living In It
A spin around the web looking at all the best writing about the Green and Gold.
By PackerAaron
With Brian Carriveau on vacation, you'll need to deal with my meager attempt to fill your Daily Links void...
Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel looks at not only the road ahead for the 7-0 Packers, but looks at the lay of the land around the NFC and the NFL.
The book "Green Bay: A City and Its Team" is taken to task for various factual errors by Cliff Christl in a column over at the Green Bay Press Gazette.
Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee writes on James Jones being a new dad and how he is enjoying a bit of a resurgence on the field.
Not strictly Packers, but Peter King leads Monday Morning Quarterback with the following: "So we're on the verge of the season's midpoint -- 115 games down, 141 to go -- these 10 truths have become evident as we head to November: 1. Green Bay's the best team."
Sounds about right.

Thank god bye week is over. I hope the players enjoyed their break and are ready to crush the Chargers who will be playing on short rest.

Sundays aren't the same without the Packers. No matter how hilarious it is to watch Tebow derp all over the field, it's just not the same.

"Derp"
RS, are you a KSK reader?
October 31, 2011 at 03:10 pm
Yep. But Derp really comes from South Park...
October 31, 2011 at 04:27 pm
Well yeah, but KSK usually associates it with football plays. Love that site.

Ha. They just posted a thread with it.

Christl sounded downright nasty in his opinion piece on Green Bay: A City and it's Team. I'm not from Green Bay, and I've only been there 3 afternoons in my entire life, so I wouldn't know if some of the captions are incorrect.
I would like to hear the author's rebuttal to Christl's attack ad. The book sure sounded good - I was planning on buying it for my dad at Christmas. Now I'm not so sure....

Buy the book. It's beautiful, regardless of the inaccuracies.

Aight... You've been in GB much longer than me.. I'll take your word for it.
Thx!
:)

Damn, Cliff doesn't fuck around! I will still by the book because listening to the writer on your show sold me on it. He came across as a guy who wanted to write a genuine book, I can only assume how hard it would be to be %100 positive every piece of info is accurate. I doubt his inaccuracies were international.

Intentional. Lol

Peter King did not like the discount double-check commercial. Wow.
Then again, he also thinks "The Office" is a good show.

If it had been Tom Brady, he'd still be laughing...

And Skip Bayless this morning didn't list Rodgers as a top-3 NFL QB.
Moral of the story: some people are stupid.
October 31, 2011 at 02:54 pm
Sorry Evan, but at this point I question the sanity of anyone that wastes one second of their life listening to what Skid Baseless has to say... About anything. The guy is an idiot wrapped in a moron... A parasite if you will. Don't give him the time of day.
October 31, 2011 at 03:01 pm
ha! I know, I know. I watch to see what BS he'll say next. I'm a masochist like that.
October 31, 2011 at 04:29 pm
Skip Bayless is just an internet troll that is allowed on TV.

He still hates him for replacing the intertception record holder

Where's point of veau? Bye weeks over Brian!! I can't take anymore of Nagler's hand-wringing. Please come back!
LOL, aaron has been an adequate substitute. Thanks for feeding our withdrawals.
GBP vs SF49 NFCC re-match?
October 31, 2011 at 04:32 pm
Don't think they will get there, I still think the Saints(yeah ugly loss but still) and whoever wins the East will be better. Also, the Lions could knock them off if given another shot. All I know is that based on what I've seen, the NFC has taken the "best conference" mantle from the boring AFC.
October 31, 2011 at 04:36 pm
Agreed on all counts. A part of me really doesn't want philly to get in, but to me the saints are our stiffest competition.
October 31, 2011 at 05:53 pm
I want no part of the Saints again. NONE.
Same goes for Philly. Mike Vick is too much of a wild card.
Jury is out on Detroit...
For now, I'd like to take my chances with CHI, SF, and NYG.

That's silly. The Packers are better than all those teams.
Do you want to get to the Super Bowl? Because the Packers will have to beat one if not two of the teams you're afraid of to do so...
October 31, 2011 at 08:33 pm
In a perfect world I too would avoid those 2 teams. Not that I don't think we would beat them, just if I could hand pick an opponent those 2 would be at the bottom of the list in the Conference. But we all know this ain't no perfect world, I think beating one if not both of those teams would make the prize just that much sweeter.
November 01, 2011 at 10:31 am
I agree that the Packers are better than those teams! The Packers are better than every team (seriously, not just sentiment).
No fear of anyone, but those teams that have the potential to score with GB in a shootout and, frankly, A-Rod has not shown any indication that this team could lose in any other way.
Just my take, but I like some of the other matchups better, and they are realistic. Niners could easily be the two seed, and Chi/NYG could wind up as a low seed playing the Pack in Round 2. Way too early to say who the playoffs will bring for sure.
