On Sunday, a tornado ripped through Mississippi near where former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre lives. "I'm told Brett Favre and family are ok but lots of damage as tornado came pretty close," writes sports reporter Lance Allan of TMJ4 in Milwaukee via Twitter. The tornado reportedly caused considerable damage on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi where Favre played his college football.

Current Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers granted an interview to a Green Bay Press-Gazette at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament this past weekend where he talked about his future. “I’ve had eight great years there, the last five as a starter,” Rodgers is quoted as saying by reporter Garrett Johnston. “Hopefully I can give them another eight plus years of playing at a high level.” Rodgers also said he'd love to have free agent wide receiver Greg Jennings back next season. Rodgers failed to make the cut with playing partner Jerry Kelly for Sunday's final round.

The future of Greg Jennings in Green Bay receives some speculation by Paul Imig of Fox Sports Wisconsin. "The closest comparison to help determine Jennings' value is wide receiver Vincent Jackson, who signed a five-year, $55 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last offseason," writes Imig. "Jackson was 29 at the time and had similar career statistics through his first seven NFL seasons as Jennings." Of course, whether the Packers can afford to give Jennings a contract in that neighborhood is up for debate. They probably cannot with upcoming extensions due to players like Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji.

Fox Sports Wisconsin continues its annual check-up series with tight end Jermichael Finley, running back Ryan Grant and linebacker Rob Francois.

The Packers' running back position gets some analysis from the team's official website from writer Mike Spofford. "The Packers don’t want a repeat of 2012 in the backfield, when injury and production issues led to five different runners – Benson, Starks, Alex Green, late signee Ryan Grant and practice-squadder DuJuan Harris – holding the role of feature back for at least one game," writes Spofford. After a solid showing late in the season, the opinion here is that Harris should get first crack at becoming the Packers' starter and lead back next season, although he shouldn't be handed the job outright.
