A man has reportedly died of an apparent suicide in the Lambeau Field parking lot on Monday. "Green Bay police were dispatched at 7:14 p.m. after the victim, who had a gunshot wound, was found lying in the parking lot between the entrance to the Lambeau Field Atrium and the Bellin Health Gate on the north side of the stadium," writes Maria Amante of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Police have been cited as saying they do not think the public is in danger and no foul play has been suspected.

Head coach Mike McCarthy announced on Monday that linebacker Clay Matthews would be out a couple weeks with a hamstring injury suffered this past Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, but McCarthy couldn't offer any more specifics. "The Packers have a bye this week, which will allow Matthews to go through two weeks of rehab heading into an NFC North contest at Detroit Nov. 18," writes Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "It's conceivable he can play in the game without practicing as receiver Jordy Nelson (hamstring) did against the Cardinals." That particular scenario is not a given, however. Silverstein goes on to detail the difficult decision facing the Packers whether or not to play Matthews at less than 100 percent or risk further injury.

Special teams coordinator Shawn Slocum acknowledged Randall Cobb's importance to the return game in an interview on Monday. "No matter how vital Randall Cobb becomes to the Green Bay Packers’ offense – and after yet another breakout game, the second-year man is becoming quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ go-to guy with veterans Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson sidelined – the team has no intention of pulling him off kickoff and punt returns to keep him safe for playing wide receiver," writes Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com. At some point I could envision Cobb sharing kick return duties, particularly late in games when the outcome has been decided, but I wouldn't expect any changes on punt return because he's so reliable. And he can always call for a fair catch.
