Packers could potentially host joint practices during camp

Head caoch Matt LaFluer indicated the Packers would only host and would not travel for any potential joint practices.

Things were always going to be different around training camp with a new head coach, but it sounds like Matt LaFleur will be wasting little time in putting his stamp on things.

LaFleur told reporters in attendance at the owners meetings that he would only be doing this if the Packers can host. They won't be traveling for any potential joint practices.

As for the possibility itself, I like anything that breaks up the monotony of camp, because it does indeed drag on after a few weeks.

It would be pretty cool to see some joint practices, but I agree with MLF here. Packers arent some scrub team giving up their home practices. Same philosophy with London games.

Seems every new coach does something different....need change from ordinary.

This is a different team now. So why not? Just as long as the teams don’t get too chippy and a player gets hurt in the scrum. I like it.

PatrickGB, I agree with your comment. As to the "too chippy" hopefully the coaches will control that aspect. Heck, even teammates get too chippy at practices sometimes, lol. I like the idea of practicing against a different opponent sometimes as I think teammates can get too comfortable with reading the "tells" of the same guy they are always going against in practice. I'm in favor of trying this. :)

I don't see any point in having joint practices. Don't different teams have different practice methods?
