Packers Coaching in High School: Don Beebe Undefeated at Aurora Christian

Former wide receiver Don Beebe is 4-0 this season as head coach at Aurora Christian in Illinois.

Several former Green Bay Packers players now coach in the high school ranks. Here's a brief update on this week's games...

  • Green Bay Southwest (3-2), led by former linebacker Bryce Paup, heads into Green Bay Notre Dame tonight. Southwest is coming off a 41-7 victory over Sheboygan North last weekend.
  • Pulaski (4-1) lost their first game of the season last week when they were defeated by Green Bay Preble 24-14. With former fullback Dexter McNabb as athletics director and fullbacks coach, they look to get back on the winning track this evening by hosting Ashwaubenon.
  • Waukesha West (5-0) puts their undefeated record on the line tonight as travel to in-town rival Waukesha South. Former tight end Mark Chmura is an assistant coach where West beat Milwaukee Pius XI 59-14 last weekend.
  • After losing two games to open the season, Sturgeon Bay is on a three-game winning streak with former quarterback Randy Wright as offensive coordinator. They beat Oconto 44-6 last Friday, and they travel to Kewaunee tonight in a matchup of teams with identical 3-2 records.
  • Former wide receiver Don Beebe has his Aurora (Ill.) Christian Eagles at 4-0 this season as they prepare to take on Montini Catholic on the road tonight. Beebe's team shutout Guerin Prep last week 44-0.
  • Hoping to get above .500 is former quarterback Ty Detmer, head coach at St. Andrews Episcopal (2-2) in Austin, Tex. They play All Saints in Fort Worth today. Detmer's club lost to Oakridge 48-13 the previous week.
  • After getting a win the first game of the season, former wide receiver Andre Rison's Flint (Mich.) Northwestern (1-3) hasn't won since. They look to reverse that trend tonight as they play at Hazel Park. They lost last week to Ortonville-Brandon, 40-14.
  • Former safety Mark Murphy is an assistant coach at St. Vincent-St.Mary in Akron, Oh. where they're undefeated so far in 2011. They travel to Hoban tonight after beating up on Euclid last week, 56-14.
  • Skyline High School (1-2) in Front Royal, Va. where former linebacker Ben Taylor is an assistant coach, hosts James Wood this evening in their homecoming game. Skyline is coming off a win against Brentsville District last week.
