Packers Clinch Playoff Berth & NFC North

The Packers did their part this afternoon and the New Orleans Saints sealed the deal by beating the Detroit Lions.

First, the Chicago Bears lost, giving the Packers a playoff birth before they had even taken a snap at MetLife Stadium this afternoon.

Then, after the Packers dispatched the New York Giants, they only needed a Detroit Lions loss tonight to the New Orleans Saints to win the NFC North.

From the Packers:

Your Green Bay Packers are 2011 NFC North Division Champions!

With the San Francisco 49ers winning their division today as well, the race for home field advantage is officially on.

The playoff elimination against the Cardinals will someday be looked upon as a huge fluke. MARK IT DOWN!

One could make an argument that that loss lit a fire under Rodgers, thus his glorious post season in 2010...

"With the San Francisco 49ers winning their division today as well, the race for home field advantage is officially on."
