Packers CB Jarrett Bush Hurts Hamstring

After missing the final two preseason games of the exhibition season with an ankle injury and being limited the entire week of practice heading into the season opener, Jarrett Bush returned in time for the Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

It was a rather remarkable recovery for Bush considering he played 50 downs this past Sunday, 30 on special teams and 20 as the teams' dime cornerback.

Just when things started to be going well for Bush and his ankle, he landed on the team's injury report Thursday with a hamstring injury, practicing in limited fashion.

Bush figures to continue to be the team's dime cornerback, if healthy, until Casey Hayward returns from a hamstring injury of his own.

Head coach Mike McCarthy gave no report on the severity of Bush's injury, and his game time status projection won't be be given on Friday following practice.

Now this hamstring thing is just getting silly. Do they not stretch before practice?

Your drafting late round picks who were smallish and not considered NFL quality by 31 other teams and we end up with them, what do people expect.
You get what you get.

The blog post is about injury updates, one showing progress and another referencing an updated injury. What does this have to do with draft position again? Trying to follow.

How the fuck did Bush surpass House on the depth chart? Bush cannot keep playing he's not a dime cornerback, nor a quarter, dollar or a 100 dollar bill CB. He looks like a fucking high schooler out there. We might as well get one we can pay those guys with burgers. More bang for buck. Let House play.

I think House is the nickel back, so Bush would be after him.

Conspiracy alert: Bush injury gives MM the opportunity to move up Banjo and see if the game is too big, or if he might have more potential than McMillan and/or Jennings. Almost like he doesn't have the stones to just do it; this gives him cover.

I really don't understand all the hating on Bush. Sure, he certainly isn't starter material. He may not even be nickel or dime material. but he is one of the best if not the best ST players on the team. people also seem to have forgotten that he played during the SB win as we had injuries in the secondary, and didn't falter then. instead of focusing on him, maybe the focus should be on the DB coaches. what exactly has House done, who supposedly was the best CB in last year's training camp? this year he looks brutal, and the only positive contributions are on ST as well. The safeties are not rookies, except Banjo, and they look totally lost in the system, and certainly unwilling to tackle. Shields had a brutal game against the 49ers. Hyde looked lost as well, that at least I can understand. So it is not just Bush here.

On a different note, I really would like to see statistics on hamstring injuries. There are injuries on other teams as well, but I cannot recall seeing many hamstring injuries. the conditioning of this team does not seem that good.

yes. he had the second worst grade of all defensive starters, just McMillian was worse.

Interesting - I honestly thought he played fine. But 5 for 116 is pretty ugly.

I do wonder how the amature eyes at PFF know whom to assign blame to when a team is playing so many variations of a zone, all with differing accountabilities/responsibilities?A good read, but I take it with a large grain of salt.

yes, for me it was actually strange too. the first impression after I saw the game live was that he did a decent job, I guess I had just the pass breakups in mind. but then i re-watched the game on my DVR (normally don't do this but I wanted to see the rookies more closely), and then I noticed that he did have a few blunders. so I wasn't really surprised about the grade. I also saw to my surprise that Don Barclay did a real good job on the right side, I thought he'd be the weak link on OL but he wasn't. Sitton and TJ Lang were horrendous, though.

I think everyone agrees he's a great on specials. Most people were questioning his place on the CB depth chart.

Also, he had a huge play in the SB that is for sure, but I'm not sure the played all that great otherwise. He got absolutely played on Pittsburgh's first touchdown, I can remember that much.

More importantly, the superbowl was a long time ago. Desmond Bishop played great that game too, and "he gone"

Speaking of Bishop - I don't think he played a single down for the Vikes week 1.

ESPN list all reported injuries league wide. There are 31 players on the list with 'hamstring' stated as their injury. Most teams have a comparable list to that of the Packers. I'm sure fans of other teams wonder the same thing about their training/medical staff.

No way dude, the Packers strength and conditioning and medical staff suck. If only the Packers stretched before practice...

Does anyone have a contact with the Packers so we can pass that tip along?
