Packers Calendar: Two Starters Missing on the Offensive Line

The Packers will be waiting to see if Bryan Bulaga and Josh Sitton practice on Thursday after being non-participants the previous day.

When the Green Bay Packers took to the practice field on Wednesday for first time as they began preparations for their Week 16 match-up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they were not joined by offensive lineman Josh Sitton.

Sitton was listed as "did not participate" on the team's injury report, marking the first time he had not practiced since Week 12.

The starting left guard of the Packers has been dealing with a torn ligament in his big toe since a Week 8 game against the New Orleans Saints, but he least had been taking part in practice prior to Wednesday.

Concern for the Packers offensive line increases when taking into account the status of right tackle Bryan Bulaga as well.

Another non-participant on Wednesday, Bulaga is still recovering from a concussion suffered in Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills and is going through the league-mandated protocol.

When the Packers take to the practice field for a second consecutive day, they'll be waiting to see if Bulaga has been cleared and Sitton has made progress.

If not, they'll continue to work with J.C. Tretter at right tackle, the position he played in the Bills game once Bulaga exited. Tretter allowed the strip-sack of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, resulting in a safety. Presumably, Lane Taylor has been working as Sitton's backup.

Bulaga and Sitton will be listed on the team's updated injury report when it's released on Thursday afternoon.

Head coach Mike McCarthy will have a couple opportunities to comment on his Packers team on Thursday, starting with his weekly appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio at 10:30 a.m. CT.

McCarthy will follow that up with a press conference taking place at 1:25 p.m. to be streamed live on Packers.com.

During the evening hours, defensive back Micah Hyde will host his weekly radio show 1 on 1 with the Boys on 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay.

Starting at 6:00 p.m., Hyde will be joined by a player guest. Online listeners can stream audio at WIXX.com and video on the station's Ustream player.

This teams success from now going forward could hinge on the health of the offensive line. GB just does not have the depth this year. Please no more injuries!

I watched it a few times in replay and the guy would have gotten a game misconduct plus a fine in an NHL game.

He won't get fined for that because he didn't cheap shot a QB or a big-time receiver. Warren Sapp got to the HOF on hits like that.......and his big mouth.
