Packers Calendar: Testing the Health of Josh Sitton, T.J. Lang

The Packers will put their starting guards through a workout on Friday to test the progress of their rehab.

After withholding Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang from the week of practice thus far and focusing on their rehab instead, the Green Bay Packers will test the health of their starting guard duo on Friday.

"I thought they would do some drill work (Thursday), but the plan is now to work them (Friday)," said McCarthy.

Sitton (toe) and Lang (ankle) are both dealing with torn ligaments that they're trying to fight through as they get ready for the Chicago Bears this upcoming Sunday.

Although the Packers do not hold a full-fledged practice on Friday, Sitton and Lang will be put through testing inside the team's CRIC (conditioning, rehab and instructional center) facility.

"The good thing is we have all day (Friday) and all day Saturday to continue to judge where it's at," said Lang. "If I have the confidence and the coaches have the confidence in me being able to go out there and get the job done, then I'd say there's a pretty good chance (of playing)."

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the Packers will release their final injury report of the week, which will estimate the extent to which each player would have practiced. They'll then give their gameday projections, either out, doubtful, questionable or probable.

Following the release of the injury report, head coach Mike McCarthy will hold his final press conference of the week in advance of Sunday's game to be streamed online at Packers.com.

During the morning hours, McCarthy will take part in his usual Friday morning radio circuit, making appearances on a handful of stations in Wisconsin:

  • 6:25 a.m.: 620 AM WTMJ in Milwaukee and online at 620WTMJ.com.
  • 6:45 a.m.: 1310 AM WIBA in Madison and online at WIBA.com.
  • 7:50 a.m.: 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay and online at WIXX.com.
