Packers Calendar: Tailgate Tour Departs, Rodgers Hosts Fundraiser
Former Packers quarterback Bart Starr will join Aaron Rodgers for his annual MACC Fund charity fundraiser Tuesday evening in Milwaukee.
The Packers' annual goodwill tour across the state of Wisconsin and nearby locations pushes off on Tuesday en route to its first stop, which isn't far away.
On Tuesday evening, the bus will stop in Oshkosh at the Premier Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center with players and alumni arriving at 6 p.m., and will run until 8:30 p.m. The event will feature food, giveaways, question-and-answer sessions and autographs.
This year's Tour celebrities include Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy, players Jarrett Bush, Randall Cobb and Alex Green, and Packers alumni Santana Dotson, Aaron Taylor and Frank Winters.
As of April 30 tickets were still available for the Oshkosh tour stop and are on sale at Oshkosh Festival Foods, 2415 Westowne Ave.
Typically the local media interviews the participants of the Tailgate Tour in Green Bay before they embark on their trip, so there should be plenty of Tailgate Tour coverage through various media outlets throughout the course of the day.
The Tailgate Tour also usually makes a couple unannounced tour stops before arriving at their final destination, but those are kept secret and includes surprising kids at local schools along the way.
This evening, the Packers quarterback will also host his fourth annual "An Evening with Aaron Rodgers" fundraiser for the MACC Fund at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee Grand Ballroom with a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The event includes dinner and program that also will include Bart Starr, golfer and broadcaster Andy North and MACC Fund president and former Milwaukee Bucks player Jon McGlocklin.
In three previous years the event has raised over $725,000 for the childhood cancer charity and expects to top $1 million this evening, according to a recent article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Individual tickets of $250 and reserved tables of 10 for $2500 can be purchased by calling the MACC Fund at 414.955.5830.
