Packers Calendar: Senior Bowl

The Senior Bowl takes place on Saturday, televised on the NFL Network.

The Green Bay Packers may or may not have a representative still in Mobile, Ala., but regardless, they'll be provided footage of Saturday's Senior Bowl.

Most teams stay for the week practice to meet and see the players up close but then leave and watch the game on film.

The game starts at 3:00 p.m. CT and will be televised on NFL Network.

Make sure to listen to Friday's episode of Railbird Central for a preview of the Senior Bowl and players to watch.

Meanwhile, out in Arizona, six Packers players will take part in Pro Bowl practice at Scottsdale Community College.

Wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, linebacker Clay Matthews, fullback John Kuhn, guard Josh Sitton and cornerback Sam Shields will take part.

Team Carter will practice at 9:40 a.m. local time, followed by Team Irvin at 11:30 a.m.

Love the Senior Bowl. I just wish it was Senior/Junior Bowl that way it included the best of the best in the draft.

I came away with a few players I would love to see the Packers taking.

If the Packers are thinking about adding another RB, there are a lot of good choices.
Ameer Abdullah (Nebraska) reminds me of Jonathan Franklin. Fast/shifty type that would compliment Lacy really well.
David Cobb (Minnesota) and David Johnson (Northern Iowa) are more similar to Lacy, but bring power and hard nosed running. I like what Cameron Artis-Payne (Auburn) brings. He also could be a really good compliment to Lacy. He kind of reminds me of Ahmad Bradshaw.

A guy who I fell in love with watching is Tyler Varga. If the Packers don't resign Kuhn, I would love to see them draft Varga. He is a do everything kind of guy. He can run the ball (has speed, elusiveness, and power), catch the ball, lead block, and will be a special teams player. He is the type of player you want on your team.

A couple of Corners caught my eye. I was really impressed with Steven Nelson (Oregon state). He was very good all game. He seemed to get his head around and made plays on the ball a lot. My only question with him is would he be a slot corner only?

The other CB is Quinton Rollins (Miami, OH). He has tremendous ball skills, but has only played 1 season of college football. He played 4 seasons as the point guard. I think he has amazing potential.
Thompson has a bit of a track record of recent of finding first year CB's and putting them in Green Bay. (Sam Shields, Demetri Goodson).

There were a number of players that really performed well but these guys caught my eye in one way or another.
