Packers Calendar: Seeing if Casey Hayward Can Practice

Last week Thursday, despite being ruled out the Detroit Lions game, Packers cornerback Casey Hayward practiced anyway.

In his comeback from a hamstring injury that's kept him out of every regular-season game so far for the Packers, last week's participation in a padded practice was viewed as a step in the right direction.

When the Packers returned to the practice field this week on Wednesday, however, Hayward didn't take part. No one has let on whether he had a setback for the team is just erring on the side of caution with their slot defender.

Hayward still hasn't been ruled out of this weekend's game against the Baltimore Ravens, but if he's going to play, getting back in action would certainly be beneficial.

More will be learned when the team releases its daily injury report following practice in the afternoon.

During the morning hours, head coach Mike McCarthy makes his weekly appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio (satellite radio) on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. CT.

He'll be talking to one of his former players and Packers preseason announcer Rich Gannon along with Bruce Murray on the SiriusXM Blitz.

Later in the day, wide receiver James Jones will make his weekly appearance on 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay for 1 on 1 with the Boys from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The show can be streamed live online at WIXX.com and through the station's USTREAM video player.

Its time to get Hayward's nose for the ball back on the field. Packers are -2 in the give/take right now, largely due to the D not creating many turnovers.

Hayward remains out vs Ravens. Makes you wonder when he will be 100% again. Maybe not till next year.

PUP - Worthy and Sherrod are ready to go.
