Packers Calendar: Rookie Symposium Begins for Green Bay Players

Packers rookies will arrive in Aurora, Ohio for the start of the NFL's annual orientation event for first-year players.

While the rookies in the AFC conclude their Rookie Symposium experience on Wednesday, the NFC rookies––including the Green Bay Packers––begin theirs.

Packers rookies will be en route to the Bertram Hotel in Aurora, Ohio for the NFL's annual orientation for recently drafted players. Undrafted rookies are not invited to the Symposium.

The four core teaching principles of the Rookie Symposium are NFL History, Total Wellness, Experience, and Professionalism. The symposium includes presentations, videos, and workshops on player health and safety, decision making, mental health, substance abuse, non-discrimination and maintaining positive relationships.

Among the guest speakers defensive lineman Datone Jones and the rest of the Packers draft class will see and hear are a pair of former Packers players, wide receivers Antonio Freeman and Desmond Howard.

Panel discussion topics include “Transitioning to NFL,” “Self Regulation,” “Are You Bigger than the Game,” “Staying in the Game,” Expectations of an NFL Player,” and “What Defines Success.”

Back in Wisconsin, the Gilbert Brown All Star Football Camp in Madison continues on Wednesday. More information can be found online.

The official youth football camps of the Green Bay Packers also continue on Wednesday and run through Friday. More information can be found at ProSportsExperience.com.
