Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Ryan Pickett was able to get his teammates with the highest profiles to attend his first ever charity Celebrity Golf Classic.
Being held at the Barona Resort & Casino in Lakeside, Cal. on Saturday, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and linebacker Clay Matthews are among those participating in Pickett's event that will benefit his namesake foundation.
Proceeds are being raised to benefit children in the foster care system through Casa de Amparo located in San Diego and the American Foundation of Counseling Services, Inc. located in Green Bay.
According to an article published online at U-T San Diego, also attending are teammates B.J. Raji, Casey Hayward and Jerel Worthy, as well as Sterling Sharpe, James Lofton, Marshall Faulk, David Justice and Jermaine Dye.
Registration for Saturday's golf and awards reception barbecue begins at 8:00 a.m. local time and can be paid for online.
While Pickett's charity event is taking place in Southern California, wide receiver James Jones will be holding his fifth annual youth football camp in Northern California.
The camp is being hosted by Gunderson High School in San Jose, Cal., Jones' hometown. Registration for the event is full.
