Packers Calendar: Pro Bowl Practice

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and his staff find themselves in a peculiar position as the coaches of the NFC team in the Pro Bowl. The future of the event is in question due to lackluster play in the past.

According to reports, however, players are taking practice more seriously. "The NFC team ended its first Pro Bowl practice by breaking the huddle and shouting, 'Win,'" reads an article from the Associated Press on Wednesday.

In addition to the Packers' coaching staff, Green Bay is represented by offensive linemen Jeff Saturday and Josh Sitton in Hawaii. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and linebacker Clay Matthews have pulled out of the game due to injury.

Pro Bowl practice continues on Thursday at Earhart Field in Honolulu with the Packers' NFC squad beginning at 11:15 a.m. local time.

"Both the AFC and NFC Pro Bowl practices will be open to all military affiliated personnel and their families who already have base access," according to the Ho'okele Pearl Harbor-Hickam News.

The report continues:

Following practice, players will participate in an afternoon of volunteer activities taking place across Hawaii as a part of the NFL PLAY 60 Community Blitz, focusing on two critical areas of NFL community outreach: youth health and wellness (NFL PLAY 60) and military outreach.

Unlike last year, there will be no television coverage of practice from the NFL Network.

Back on the mainland, practice continues at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. where Packers scouts and executives are in attendance.

As opposed to the first three days of practice, on Thursday both the North and the South squads will practice together from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. CT.

The NFL Network will wrap-up practice with coverage from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. CT.
