By the time you read this, training camp in Green Bay will already be underway.
No, there's no actual football taking place, but players report for duty for the first time on Friday for a day of housekeeping duties before the action starts.
"Players will report at 6:00 in the morning on Friday for physicals and testing," said general manager Ted Thompson at the annual shareholders meeting. "There won't be any practicing on Friday."
Most, if not all, players had already moved into the dorms at St. Norbert College DePere, Wis. on Thursday evening.
To bridge the gap between Thursday's shareholders meeting and Saturday's practice, the Packers are offering a couple of events for fans and the community on Friday.
First up is the annual 1K Kids Run for children ages 10 and younger, which takes place at 6:00 p.m.
Walk-up registration and packet pickup will occur from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. inside the Lambeau Field atrium.
All kids will receive a Packers 1K Kids Run t-shirt, a logoed bag and a participant medal.
Then after the Kids Run, Movie Night at Lambeau Field takes place at 7:00 p.m.
An event that is free and open to the public, Dispicable Me 2 will be shown on the Tundra Vision.
Concessions will be available throughout the evening.
Finally, the official youth camps of the Green Bay Packers wrap up not only their weeklong events on Friday in Madison and Elm Grove, Wis., but for their entire summer schedule.
Children ages six to 14 will conclude their camp following a day of skills and activities from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Bishop O'Connor Center and Elm Grove Lutheran School respectively.
UPDATE: Head coach Mike McCarthy will hold his annual pre-training camp press conference on Friday at 10:00 a.m.
McCarthy's meeting with the media will be streamed live at Packers.com.
