Packers Calendar: OL Andrew Tiller Hosts Beach Party

The Packers guard hosts a theme party in his native New York to kick off the Independence Day weekend.

Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Andrew Tiller kicks off the Independence Day weekend in style as he hosts a beach-themed party in his native New York on Thursday.

As shared by Tiller on Instagram:

Tiller grew up in nearby Queens and played his college football at Syracuse.

The offensive lineman will have to enjoy his holiday time off, because when training camp starts later this month, he'll be engaged in the fight of his life for a spot on the Packers regular-season roster.

Primarily a guard, Tiller doesn't stand a chance to unseat starters Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang and will be competing with the likes of Don Barclay and Lane Taylor for a backup role.

It might take an injury for Tiller to make the 53-man roster, but he showed the Packers enough to keep him around the entire offseason. He originally signed to the team's practice squad in November of 2013, where he remained for the rest of the season.

The previous year, Tiller was sixth-round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints but spent his rookie season on injured reserve. He also spent time on the practice squad of the San Diego Chargers in 2013 before being released.
