Packers Calendar: Nick Perry on the Injury Report

The Packers linebacker will be listed on the team's injury report when it's released Friday afternoon.

We hope all our readers had a terrific Thanksgiving. Enjoy all the Black Friday deals, but by the time you're reading this, you've probably already missed them.

Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Perry didn't play in last week's game against the Minnesota Vikings and would appear to be in danger of playing this weekend's game against the New England Patriots.

Perry has been listed as "did not participate" on the Packers' injury report Wednesday and Thursday, marking the second straight week he hasn't practiced with a shoulder injury.

When the Packers release their updated injury report on Friday, Perry will definitely be a person of interest, seeing as the Packers defense played so well with him in the starting lineup Weeks 10 and 11.

Perrry practice status will be listed first as either did not participate, limited or full. And then his game-day projection will come next as either out, doubtful, questionable or probable.

Cornerback Jarrett Bush (groin) is in the same boat as Perry, not having practiced for two weeks.

Head coach Mike McCarthy will address the media one last time before Sunday's game with a press conference to be streamed online at 12:15 p.m. CT at Packers.com.

Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson will also make his weekly appearance on 620 AM WTMJ in Milwaukee at 3:20 p.m. and streamed online at 620WTMJ.com.

Sure hope Perry can play. Seeing any combination of two between B. Jones, Hawk and Neal on the field at the same time against Brady is scary.

Perry is a slug.
Packers have until May 3rd to offer a fifth year on his rookie contract. --- Something tells me he'll be playing his final year in GB next season.
He'll go where he can be a DE. ----He's never wanted to be an OLB.

The Packers need Perry going forward. He's a very solid, if oft-injured, player at this point. Besides, Peppers is older, Neal is so-so, Jay Elliott is a work in progress, and Mulumba may have limited upside. They will keep Perry, for sure.

No linebacker on the team holds the edge like Perry. If you look at Mathews stats the last two years he has played his best when Perry is on the field, even when he played opposite him (per Bob McGinn). Neal even with more size (like Datone Jones) get washed out when trying to hold the point. In addition because of how stout Perry is he can play inside on the NASCAR formation. He has been injury prone but he is young and an extremely talented athlete (he blew away the competition at the combine), a slug, you got to be joking.

See if the line vs. New England changes if Perry is declared out. I bet it does.

Time will tell.
In the meantime, Perry can't play again because of nagging injuries. He came into the NFL playing opposite CM3.---- An ideal situation but turns out he's still just-another-guy.
