Packers Calendar: NFL Combine Gets Underway

Select offensive linemen, tight ends and specialists will take part in one-on-one interviews with the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday.

There's no workouts and you won't find any coverage on the NFL Network, but the NFL Combine gets underway in earnest Wednesday in Indianapolis.

The annual job interview for over 300 pro football prospects starts with Group 1 arriving in Indy, which includes offensive linemen, tight ends and specialists. Each position group's arrival is staggered over the course of the next several days.

Once in town, they'll take part in registration and orientation, before getting into more important matters such as going to the hospital for their pre-exam and X-rays and also take part in interviews with individual NFL teams.

This is where the Green Bay Packers come into the picture. They'll have a whole host of representatives in Indianapolis over the course of the next week, from front office personnel types, the coaching staff and scouts.

On Wednesday they'll begin one-on-one interviews with select Group 1 players that they want to get to know better. Such sessions will include everything from asking about a player's background to having them diagram Xs and Os on a whiteboard.

The coming days in Indianapolis will get decidedly busier as more prospects arrive, they fulfill their media obligations and workouts eventually take place.

Running back DuJuan Harris co-hosts his weekly podcast on Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. CT at the BDW Radio station at BlogTalkRadio.
