Packers Calendar: Monitoring the Progress of Hayward, Jones from Hamstring Injuries

Mike McCarthy will have an update on injuries during his press conference at 1:10 p.m. CT to be streamed live on Packers.com.

The Green Bay Packers return to practice on Wednesday after their weekly day off on Tuesday, and of particular attention will be how much progress has been made by a pair of players with hamstring injuries: cornerback Casey Hayward and linebacker Brad Jones.

It's already been reported that linebacker Clay Matthews will miss roughly the next month recovering from thumb surgery, so there's little hope that he'll participate in practice. But there's a much better chance that Hayward and Jones might take part.

Even though he was ruled out of the Week 5 Lions game, Hayward took part in practice last week, perhaps a sign that he's close to returning from a hamstring injury that has kept him out of every game of the season thus far.

Jones' status, meanwhile, is up in the air after aggravating his hamstring this past Sunday in a win over the Lions. During the preseason, Jones missed time with a hamstring pull as well.

Having either Hayward or Jones or both available would benefit a Packers defense that travels to Baltimore this upcoming weekend for a date against the defending Super Bowl champions.

Wednesday's injury report will be made public at Packers headquarters shortly before the start of head coach Mike McCarthy's press conference, which will be streamed live on the team's official website at Packers.com at 1:10 p.m. CT.

In the evening, tight end Jermichael Finley will host the weekly J-Mike and M.D. Show from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on The Fan 107.5 FM and 1400 AM in Green Bay from Thornberry Creek golf course in Oneida, where the show is broadcasted.

The show can be streamed online at TheFan1075.com.
