The Green Bay Packers' begin their three-day mandatory minicamp with a practice open to the public today at 10:45 a.m. Central time at Ray Nitschke Field.
A lot of attention today will be on veteran defensive back Charles Woodson who has been a topic of speculation during much of the offseason. Many think a move to safety, or at least playing more frequently at safety, is in the works for Woodson this season.
Woodson has been at team facilities during the offseason workout program in Green Bay, but has not practiced during the voluntary portion. Tuesday will be the first time this season he's mandated by contract that he be in attendance.
It's possible the Packers could choose to withhold Woodson from practicing, but he at least has to be there. And if he is practicing, everyone will be looking to see where he lines up whether it's cornerback, safety or defending the slot.
Tuesday is the only day of minicamp that will be open to the public. The final two days on Wednesday and Thursday will be open to the media only.
Following practice, head coach Mike McCarthy will hold a press conference aired live on the Packers official website at 1:20 p.m.
