Packers Calendar: Letroy Guion Visiting Packers

The former Vikings defensive lineman is reportedly making a free agent visit to Green Bay on Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers got their pass rusher in free agency when they signed Julius Peppers on Saturday, and now it might be time to sign a run stuffer as they will reportedly bring in Letroy Guion for a visit on Sunday.

Whether that plan has changed since signing Peppers and B.J. Raji is unknown, but with $17 million of salary-cap space availble, there's likely still room to add the former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman should the Packers choose to do so.

Like Peppers, Guion has familiarity with the rest of the NFC North, having faced opponents within the division twice a year.

Now that the contracts of Ryan Pickett, Johnny Jolly and C.J. Wilson have all expired, the Packers defensive front has gotten smaller by subtraction. Guion would beef up the team's run defense, particularly in short-yardage and goal-line situations.
