Packers Calendar: Learning More About Micah Hyde's Status

Micah Hyde will host "1 on 1 with the Boys" on WIXX in Green Bay on Thursday evening.

The "Packers Calendar" is back in earnest after I've returned from a 10-day vacation from Istanbul. Glad to be back. Let's get down to football.

After suffering a knee injury in the Packers' victory over the Jets on Sunday, more might be learned about safety Micah Hyde's status on Thursday.

Hyde started the first two games of the season as one of the Packers' starting safeties, opposite Morgan Burnett, taking over for M.D. Jennings a year ago.

Returning to the practice field on Wednesday, Hyde was classified as taking part on a limited basis and attention will be on whether he can get to "full" before Sunday's game at the Detroit Lions.

As long as Hyde remains less than 100 percent, the Packers will be relying more heavily on first round draft pick Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, such as they did against the Jets.

Through two games, Clinton-Dix has expectedly encountered a rookie learning curve with uneven play, although the potential for him still remains high.

Following Thursday's practice, the Packers will release an official injury report shortly before the start of coach Mike McCarthy's press conference, which will take place at 2:00 p.m. CT, to be streamed live on Packers.com.

Then in the evening, Hyde will take up his post as one of the hosts on "1 on 1 with the Boys," airing live on 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay at 6:00 p.m. CT, streamed online at WIXX.com.

How much Hyde discloses remains to be seen, but the opportunity for the safety to discuss his injury and the state of the Packers will exist on Thursday night.
