Packers Calendar: James Lofton Represents Packers in NFL Kickoff Game on TV

The wide receiver legend will appear on NBC before tonight's Ravens-Broncos NFL KIckoff game.

Football season gets underway on Thursday evening when the annual NFL Kickoff game is televised on NBC, this year pitting the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium.

The game gets underway at 7:30 p.m. CT, but moments before kickoff, football legends representing every NFL team will take part in a 32 to one countdown on television just before kickoff.

Representing the Green Bay Packers will be wide receiver James Lofton, but there will be other familiar faces to Packers fans, including former center Jeff Saturday on behalf of the Indianapolis Colts and current outside linebacker coach Kevin Greene for the Carolina Panthers.

Earlier in the day, the Packers will get back to the practice field for one more day of preparation before their own season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

With a fairly healthy team heading into the Week 1 game, there's little uncertainty for the Packers on the practice field. With Casey Hayward already ruled out, the only better news the team could get is if fellow cornerback Jarrett Bush can go from limited to full participation.

Head coach Mike McCarthy's Thursday press conference will not be aired online at team's website.

From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., wide receiver James Jones returns for another season of 1 on 1 with the Boys, a player interview show airing on 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay that can also be streamed live on WIXX.com.
