Packers Calendar: Clay Matthews' Practice Participation

The Packers linebacker was listed as a "limited" participant the first day of practice this week with a groin injury.

The Green Bay Packers will practice for a second consecutive day on Thursday as they get ready for the Minnesota Vikings, and the status of linebacker Clay Matthews will be one of the day's storylines.

Matthews was listed as a "limited" participant in Wednesday's practice with a groin injury, so when the Packers release their updated injury report, attention will be on if Matthews can improve to full participation.

"Just speaking with him, he doesn't have high concern," said head coach Mike McCarthy. "We'll see how he feels (Thursday)."

Since moving to inside linebacker the past two weeks, Matthews has been a big part of a defensive turnaround for the Packers, and they'll certainly need his services going forward.

The status of several other players will also be notable. The group of players that did not practice on Wednesday includes linebacker Nick Perry (shoulder), offensive linemen Josh Sitton (toe) and T.J. Lang (ankle), tight end Brandon Bostick (hip) and defensive back Jarrett Bush (groin).

Following the release of the injury report, McCarthy will have an update during his regularly-scheduled press conference at 1:40 p.m. CT, streamed live on Packers.com.

McCarthy will also have his his weekly Thursday interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio with Rich Gannon and Bruce Murray at 10:30 a.m.

During the evening hours, defensive back Micah Hyde will co-host the Packers talk show 1 on 1 with the Boys, heard on 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay. Hyde will be joined by a player guest.

The show can also be streamed online with audio at WIXX.com and video on the station's Ustream channel.
