Packers Calendar: Clay Matthews' Game-Day Status Coming Friday

The Packers release game day status projections after practice on Friday before Mike McCarthy's press conference.

The Green Bay Packers take to the practice field for the final time on Friday before this weekend's game against the Detroit Lions.

Friday is the day NFL teams release game-day status projections, and the only player that might possibly be a question mark is linebacker Clay Matthews, and even he's a good bet to be listed as probable after being a full participant in practice a day earlier.

Matthews is still working his way back from a hamstring injury suffered during the Packers' last game in Cincinnati.

Unless a new injury occurs or a player were to have a setback, the injury report in Green Bay shouldn't come as a surprise. Casey Hayward, James Starks and Greg Van Roten have already been ruled out.

All the other players nursing injuries appear to be on the mend and should play on Sunday.

Following practice, head coach Mike McCarthy will have his press conference streamed live on the team's official website at Packers.com, expected to take place at 12:30 p.m. CT.

Early Friday morning, head coach Mike McCarthy will make his rounds on statewide local radio as follows:

  • WTMJ AM 620 Milwaukee at 6:25 a.m.
  • WSAU AM/FM 550/99.9 Wausau/Stevens Point at 6:35 a.m.
  • WIBA AM 1310 Madison at 6:45 a.m.
  • WIXX 101.1 FM Green Bay at 7:50 a.m.
