Packers Calendar: Christmas Day Injury Report

The team will release an injury report on Thursday, even though they don't practice.

Merry Christmas to one and all from Cheesehead TV. Hopefully we all receive a Christmas gift in the form of a win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers will not practice on Christmas Day, but the one thing they will do is release an injury report.

The Packers aren't alone. Every team in the NFL will release an injury report on Dec. 25 whether they practice or not, just like they would do every Thursday of the entire season, assuming they played on a Sunday.

It is expected that an injury report would be an estimation of what would happen if the team did practice.

As far as the Packers go, it would be unexpected if the injury report is any different from the previous day.

Cornerback Davon House (shoulder) was the only player that did not practice.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers (calf), linebackers Clay Matthews (biceps) and Mike Neal (abdomen) and offensive linemen Josh Sitton (toe) and T.J. Lang (ankle) all were listed as "limited."

The Packers would love to see their most important player, Rodgers, go from "limited" to "full" practice partcipant, as they would any player, but it's probably not going to happen on Thursday.

While they're away from team facilities, players will be celebrating the Christmas holiday.

"What I've learned over time," said head coach Mike McCarthy. "I'd be concerned if we were working on the holiday. That's just not right in my opinion. I think our players, coaches, support staff, everybody will be where they're supposed to be."

UPDATE at 4:50 p.m. CT: The Packers' injury report was the same as Wednesday. Only Davon House didn't participate.

Rodgers, Matthews, Neal, Sitton and Lang were all listed as "limited."
