Packers bring back Will Redmnond
The Packers retain one of their core special-team players.
By PackerAaron
I’m told S Will Redmond has agreed to terms with the #Packers, per source.

More from Spoon:
S Will Redmond's minimum salary would be $910,000, but the #Packers can sign him to a "qualifying contract," which would allow them to count only $750,000 of the deal against the cap. In that scenario, a player can get up to a $137,500 signing or roster bonus (no cap charge).

Redmond was a 2016 3rd round pick of the 49ers who never saw the field in San Francisco due to injuries. He spent time in Kansas City after that.
Redmond had 36 tackles in 2019, mostly on special teams.
He's a fine special teams player and a good worker bee. Just don't ask him to play extensively from scrimmage any time soon.

Redmond didn't impress me much last season.

He must be the float safety and Tramon not targeted for a return.

Gute's after depth, so he doesn't have to address it in the draft. It also free draft picks for trades.

At least they haven’t signed Allison..........yet. I’m off the Gute train permanently if he does that.

Wow - tough board. While I'm not a big Redmen fan I think the title is the point. Core Special teams player. We always gripe about not paying attention to special teams. Gutes signs a core ST player who is an adequate depth piece. The value is there...

Biggest off season fix was the run defense , Gute ignored it , I guess he likes getting embarrassed watching his team giving up career days to nobody’s.

Dude take it easy. It's literally day 2 of official free agency. There's lots of WRs and DTs left on the board. Hell, even a couple bargain bin ILBs and OTs.

Tough board, indeed. Redmond is a very good signing, IMO. I thought he showed he was competent as a back up free safety. He was lousy as the hybrid ILB. His PFF grade was reduced by his ILB play.
I think he is worth every nickel of $910K, and is a bargain under a qualified contract.

He's just a troll looking for attention. At least that's all I can come up with.

Would have loved to to see Gute grab a big time D-lineman, but NOT at the expense of losing Clark and Baktiari next year.
The Pack played a super-easy schedule last year which skewed their W-L ratio and gave too many fans high expectations.
There's a lot of holes to fill.

I understand the frustration so far. People see PFF grades. Then want that guy. PFF isn't going to give you a fit for this team. And maybe Suh isn't either. But he does help every team's been on. Gute needs a experienced DL. Suh could be his last chance.
