Packers 46-Man Roster Prediction for Week 16 vs. Steelers

Aaron Rodgers is ruled out. Find out who else is projected to join him on the sidelines on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Here's our best guess at predicting the Green Bay Packers' game-day roster for Sunday's Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Reminder, only 46 players can be active...

The entire roster is included. Those bold and italicized are predicted to be inactive...

Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers, Scott Tolzien, Matt Flynn

Running back: Eddie Lacy, John Kuhn, James Starks, Khalil Bell

Wide receiver: Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Jarrett Boykin, Chris Harper

Tight end: Andrew Quarless, Ryan Taylor, Brandon Bostick, Jake Stoneburner

Offensive line: David Bakhtiari, Josh Sitton, Evan Dietrich-Smith, T.J. Lang, Don Barclay, Marshall Newhouse, Lane Taylor, Derek Sherrod, J.C. Tretter

Defensive line: Datone Jones, B.J. Raji, Ryan Pickett, C.J. Wilson, Johnny Jolly, Mike Daniels, Josh Boyd, Jerel Worthy

Outside linebacker: Clay Matthews, Nick Perry, Mike Neal, Nate Palmer, Andy Mulumba

Inside linebacker: A.J. Hawk, Brad Jones, Jamari Lattimore, Victor Aiyewa

Cornerback: Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Micah Hyde, Davon House, Jarrett Bush

Safety: Morgan Burnett, M.D. Jennings, Chris Banjo, Sean Richardson

Special teams: Mason Crosby, Tim Masthay, Brett Goode

Commentary:

  • Once again, Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • Joining Rodgers in being listed as "out" are defensive lineman Johnny Jolly (neck) and tight end Brandon Bostick (foot).
  • It's quite possible that either one or both of Jolly's and Bostick's seasons are over and could land on injured reserve before Sunday. If that's the case, the Packers could activate Randall Cobb and perhaps another player. But they could choose to wait as well.
  • Defensive lineman C.J. Wilson (ankle) is making progress but is still listed as "questionable" and not predicted to be active.
  • A long list of players are listed as "probable" and all are projected to play: running back Eddie Lacy (ankle), linebackers Mike Neal (abdomen), Nick Perry (foot) and Brad Jones (ankle) and defensive lineman Ryan Pickett (knee).
  • One week after being inactive against the Cowboys, Jake Stoneburner is likely to be back to active status now that fellow tight end Bostick is out.

My best guess, Cobb will be activated tomorrow with Jolly and/or Bostick going on IR. Why give the Steelers a heads up on Friday? Make the Pitt. coaches stay up Saturday night to review Cobb film. And there is a far out chance that Cobb film didn't travel with them. If Cobb is activated, he'll be used sparingly to get the rust off. Probably a lot a motion schemes rather than just straight off the slot or end. BWDIK... It will be a close game with the lead exchanging numerous times.

Thank you Packer Organization for taking the high road and not getting Aaron hurt more, MM and the other coaches want Aaron back as much as anyone; but know that Aaron is not a one year deal, we have to protect Aaron from further injury. THANK YOU PACKERS Organization!!!! Flynn is a really good QB and wins the close games, what more could we ask for right now??? Packers Organization take the high road once again!! Even if we don't get to the playoffs;
THANK YOU PACKERS

I see the Steelers rolling over us on Sunday. This team has come around, found itself and is playing knock out football: Detroit and Cinci in the last two weeks.
They are not rolling over and dying on our account.
Without a pass rush, Rothlesburger has a field day. You heard it hear.

I certainly will remember where I "herd" it when the clock hits all zero's, the Packers win, and Lacy has solidified his title of Offensive Rookie Of the Year. Maybe next week, Aaron. Maybe not. Either way we gotta find a way to win. GO PACK GO.

I'd like to see Datone finally step it up, swat down a few of big Bens passes, get after the QB and play a complete game.

also switch Clay around from end to middle. Ben is very hard to bring down and extends the play. Which secondary will show up?

A complete game from Jones would make the difference in this game. I'm not holding my breath.
