I would like to say thay CM3 had an awesome game stoping the run and his forced fumble was just awesome. His motor never stops.

Also BJ Raji with another sack. 6.5 sacks for a nose tackle is pretty awesome.

That forced fumble might have been one of my favorite plays of the season. I just started yelling at CM3 for over-pursuing the QB and letting the runner by two plays in a row when he turns around and does that. Talk about instant redemption. CM3 and BJ Raji are really starting to look like an all-time great first round draft duo. You look at the many teams around the league trying to convert to a 3-4 and finding much less success with it. That really makes me happy TT is in my corner with draft picks like those and the wherewithal to hire Dom Capers. Go Pack!

No, that's getting old. Even if you're a Favre fan, you have to figure that his career has finished or will finish soon.

Is TT perfect? The best GM? Near the top? That's debatable. There are GMs who draft better, and besides the draft is just one tool among many. I would like to see him expand his repertoire. Not holding my breath.

I don't give him that much credit for the Rodgers pick because that's what i wanted him to do at the time. If a stiff like me can pick Rodgers, how tough could that have been?

I thought a big play in the game is when kuhn jumped on the fumble bu rodgers, when boss of the giants could have helped his team by doing the same thing. think score at the time of the fumble was 31-17 and could have changed the game

Same play, Jones is running route and just slows down. James, any particular reason you didn't scamper back to try to help recover the ball? Lack of consistent use of his talents = last year of contract = JOnes as Bears #1 next year. And I'm ok w/that.

Wow, Woody, why so angry??

My opinion is simply supported by power of observation. JJ, as talented as he looks sometimes, makes too many costly mistakes from what appears to be lack of focus.

Woody, so lets say I am sitting in a t!tty bar. I don't have to feel every rack as it goes out on stage to know what I like and what I don't like. It is simply observable, and yes, to some extent, subjective. But you don't have to get p1ssed and take it all personally, just because I don't like one set as well as another.

Ya know, Woody - I actually agree with your argument that people are unnecessarily hard on Jones and Nelson. I think there's room for criticism of the two, of course, but I believe the two are more valuable than people realize. That said, there's a way to present your argument. By leading with sarcasm and epic-level snark, and not the "relevant numbers" you eventually leaned on, you convince nobody.

OH, and I want TT to bring Jones back next year as I suspect he'll have something to prove to all his critics.

All in all, good game. Still not happy with the running game, even though it was probably the best showing of the yr.
3.4 is nothing to celebrate, if you take A-Rod's 26 yds rushing out of the equation, probably closer to 3.0, not good.
Pass protection collapses to quickly also.
Imagine if we didn't have a Mobil QB ?

Great, Great addition of Desmond Bishop. Although I probally can't articulate the reasons, I do believe that Bishop has been a major reason (Dom Capers and his staff being numero uno) for the high level of play on the defensive side of the ball. Since his addition into the starting line-up against Washington, only one game (Miami) really was a poor game defensively. He is physical and seems to just disrupt his opponents. Capers has split him out numerous times to hit WRs. We saw it with Randy Moss and we saw it yesterday against the Giants. Even Hawk's level of play seems to have increased with Bishops insertion next to him. TEs don't beat us continually anymore and there just seems to be a higher level of physicallity with #55. I mean when was the last time you heard even the most negative Fan complain about our ILB play?

Hawk and Bishop's play have been solid as a byproduct of Raji. Linebackers tend to look awefully solid in base and nickle when the middle of the pocket consistantly gets pressed in the passing game and he forces plays latterally in the run game.

CSS, I would agree with this, but it is Barnett did not have this impact when he was starting and Raji was still there. There is no doubt that Raji is a focal point (NTs always are in the 3/4). But Hawk and Barnnet were not playing at a high level early in the year. Hawk and Bishop are....and it is not just beacause of Raji. Bishop disrupting recievers off the snap doesnt have anything to do with Raji's dominate play. Raji is a dominating player and deserves all the praise in the world. But it still doesnt change the fact that the team has played at a higher level with Bishop in the mix.

LeRoy Butler would disagree with you. Bishop can hit like no other but he isn't as instinctive as Barnett.

I have all the respect and praise in the world for how consistant Bishop has been (which he never was), but I believe fans are overrating his play. He still does the things that fans used to absolutely kill Hawk for: he guesses, gets washed out and makes tackles down field.

I'm not discrediting his performance, it's exceeded my expectations. But fans are grossly overstating his ability in contrast/comparison to Barnett.

My 2 cents.

I think this really underscores how simply great Dom Capers and his staff have planned, develop players and put them in positions to be succesful. Every single defensive coach has had injuries yet they keep moving along. Really a good system Capers has. (position coaches to scheme).

The biggest BAD area of the game was the kickoff coverage, which is strange, considering how well the team performed on punt coverage. It all started with Crosby kicking the ball to the 15 every time. From there, the Giants would consistently move piles of players out to the 35-40 yard line. We cannot have this same level of play at the Bears next week. I wouldn't mind bringing in a kickoff specialist next week, because unlike the hurting Giants, the Bears have real threats in the return game. I don't know how readily available this type of player is, but the Vikings had one last year, and watching Crosby kick off is killing me.

Play action worked to a 'T' and Giants safeties were burnt because they were always peeking into the backfield. This is a game where you can't look at YPA, rather the total yardage and why the passing game was so effective.

Perry Fewel thought pressuring Rodgers would be effective, but his players (safeties) were consistantly caught cheating on the run.

Idiot fan is right, great balance, great job overall by the line, you can't look at the run numbers mutually exclusive from the passing game.

RE Bulaga in the "bad" category - Justin Tuck is a Pro Bowl caliber 6th year player who is in the top-10 in that category in the NFL with 11, including 1.5 on Vick last week. While leading the Giants in sacks he also plays the run very well, with more tackles and TFLs than his line-mates. It's fair to hang a "bad" on Bulaga, but all and all I'm still optimistic about Bulaga's long-term potential.

I've been on the "picking on Jones" bandwagon, and don't see any reason to get off. There are too many plays like the "missed dagger" this week. His rec/targeted was the same as Nelson's this week (55%), but the bottom line is that Nelson made his big catch, and Jones didn't. And he's in a contract year. Dude has one-year extension written all over him, because I can't believe any other team in the league is going to pay him what he thinks he's worth this off-season. Only question is will TT find something better at the bottom of the draft and then use him as trade bait next summer.

Bulaga deserves some grief for a few pressures, but his overall play was solid for a 21 year old rookie. Tuck has both power and speed. Bulaga dealt with it by becoming a 'waist-bender'. Go back and re-watch the game. Bulaga was burnt when he failed to bend at the knees, bent over at the waist (reached with his arms) and started guessing what type of rush tuck was going to bring.

Breakdown in fundamentals for a rookie that was caught guessing. He will be fine, still fired off the ball hard on run plays, looked solid.

They communicate where the pressure and the breakdowns might be and Rodgers anticipates and moves accordingly.
