I don't disagree with Triplette in the ugly, yet I also feel like it was one of the best games I've seen him ref. Sad that those aren't mutually exclusive.
Wow. What a game. I can feel the confidence building. It will be a high-flying game in New Orleans. Their season is on the brink of collapse and they are really going to have to bring it to beat this Green Bay Packers team.
Imo, we need to sign House before he hits the open market. With a raising salary cap, and with multiple teams lacking quality corners, he will be in major demand. Especially a team like the jets who love the large, press corners, House can be in line for a large pay raise. It's likely an either, or situation with House and Tramon. We've seen this same song and dance in the past. TT will bring back the player who likely has his best years ahead of him as opposed to the player whose best years are behind him. I love Tramon, but he probably will be playing for another team next season. Possibly the Steelers? Especially with Mike Daniels and Hayward needing new contracts soon.
How many referees does it take to determine who committed the penalty when Triplette's crew officiates? Answer is 1 (Triplette), but the other five refs each have their own candidate.
Clay Matthews was finally very good yesterday. His bull rushes disrupted the pocket so many times, nice to see him at what I think is full strength. I bet his injury was bothering him alot more than MM would let us believe.
Off topic, but I fell out of my chair watching Pete Carroll get humiliated !! by not one, but two special teams plays against St. Louis. That punt return should be on every NFL highlight reel for the decade! Oh my! THAT was priceless.
I remember when the Bears did that to us for a touchdown which would have essentially won the game for them. But a penalty negated it. I remember thinking how amazing that playcall was. Now the Rams are getting all the press with it.......like they came up with it or something.
If I remember correctly, they were actually down by more than one score at the time. If the TD had counted, it would have made the game more interesting, but I don't think it would have given them the lead. I can't quote you the score, but I remember thinking, "why would they waste that brilliant play at a time like that?"
On the ugly side. I sure hope they feature Denver, The Niners, Seattle, the Stealers and Dallas a lot more on Sunday evenings and Monday night football.
If I didn't know better I would think they are dissing the NFC North this year. Maybe this division only exists in our our minds?
I sure hope we can keep this going. When all wheels are clicking this team can be pretty darn good as in SB good. Just have to avoid the key injury and stay on point.
BTW, NO resigned Tom Crabtee Monday. They've got quite a few injuries on both the OL and DL. Nevertheless they feel they played their best football against the Lions. This is a good team: a wounded beast that's being cornered. On the other hand, they have to play Carolina the following Thursday and clearly thats a more important game to them than the Packers.

Nice. And it pretty much sums up the game.
As it turn out, this one was over when Carolina won the flip and deferred.

Triplette has to hold the "Ugly" record, right? He's there pretty much every time he calls a Packer game.

The bad: having nothing to complain about, nobody to want to get cut, nobody to want to be fired. Going to be a quiet week on CHTV.
Could Kuhn be on the way out?

He went on record predicting a New Orleans win over Green Bay last week.
Of course, he also predicted Carolina would win yesterday. And he said his predictions were "fluid".
I'm guessing the fluid he means is drool.
