-Richard Rodgers is doing all right for a rookie.

-I'm not so hard on House. Him and Richardson have the size to match up with those big WRs from Chicago. Didn't see Richardson all game, except one ST play iirc.

-Hyde was ok too, although I think it's time to give Dix more time at S.

-This team needs a NT.

I thought I saw Hyde miss a few tackles today. His coverage left room for improvement, too. On the positive side I think he ran a kick past the 20.

Honestly, I think the Packers need to make the switch to Clinton-Dix full time at Safety. Maybe use Hyde in Dime or something, but I think we are at the point when we need to see more of Clinton-Dix and less of Hyde.

I really think a match up that would work would be to use Richardson on the TE's. He has the size to match up with them.

I'm on board with seeing more of Clinton-Dix.

I'm not so sure whether we should see less of Hyde or Burnett. Both have been disappointing to me. Maybe see if the jump Sean Richardson showed in camp can translate into game situations.

Call me a man from the North, I don't care, but two down linemen on fourth and inches doesn't make sense to me.

I'd give the refs the ugly.

Cutler was ok considering he's Cutler. He'll make some throws and throw a few INTs. Just another day at the office for Cutler.

I agree with replacing Hyde and Clinton-Dix.
Pennel, I would like to see play more, but when he was in yesterday he didn't show me to much.
Hawk has actually played well overall the last 3 weeks.

I am hoping much much sooner for that. In fact. By eoy, say for Christmas I am hoping for anyone to replace Hawk!!!! . He gets ten tackles because the line gets blown up. Then maybe with Pennell, Dix, Lattimore...the middle of our d willl actually be a plus not a huge albatross.

good = Corey linsley just blasting guys.

Bad = the field.

Ugly = our run defense. How goddamn hard is it? Apparently, waaaaaay too hard for our lackluster DL

Our scheme against the bears is to play bend but don't break. You know why? Because it has worked against Jay Cutler since he has been there. Eventually you'll get "Good ole Jay" as Woodson used to say.
And guess what? He delivered again....in spades. Nickel did its job. We will most likely win that shootout every time.

I'm okay with letting Forte run a little bit. We invited the run. I don't like to see Guion getting blown off his spot by like five yards. That would not happen to Raji.

Also: I would put Jay Cutler in the Good....not the ugly. He is so good for the Packers.

I got used to seeing Raji blown off the LOS by 5 yards last year, and the year before that too.

Hawk had about 12 tackles today does his job out there, Datone Jones and Nick Perry are just non factors on the field. Daniels talks the talk but doesnt do the walk.

Is Hawk's job never to make a tackle within 7 yards of the line of scrimmage?

If so, I agree he is doing his job because when you need a linebacker to jump on a pile 10-15 yards downfield AJ is your man as he has been throughout his career.

Dude, we got a big win in Chicago against a team that had been pretty good up until today. Packers offense was finally clicking and looked dangerous despite the poor run performance, and the defense had two turnovers and held the Bears to 17 points. No, it wasn't perfect, BUT WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!!

While the defense definitely has room for improvement, the results have been great the last two weeks. 19 points vs the lions, and 17 vs the Bears. Not bad

And technically, only 10 points last week against the Lions, their defense accounted for 9 of their 19. If MM's and Capers plan was to not get beat by Marshall and Jeffery, today, then they succeeded. It sure was tough to watch them put up 235 on the ground though. Also, the Jets only scored 3 points after that little over a quarter of kicking our butts to start the game.

The DL has no chance to stop run when capers plays mostly 2 DL . To many small bodies on field. Never seen a 4th and one with only two dl before. There's a difference between whining and being honest. Wish TT would have brought in a run stuffer on the DL. He's to worried about signing next years free agent's. I have said it here before that the pack should go all out to win with rogers still in prime. This defense isn't good enough to go very far this year. All we can do is hope for the best.

TT had Raji, who looked like he would be pretty good. I don't think anyone thought his backup plans in FA Guion, and Boyd would be this bad. Who knows, maybe Pennel is the answer, or maybe he tries a free agent. Bottom line is we won by a wide margin, created turnovers, and have improved at safety and ilb. There is a long way to go before the defense is world class, but there is hope to gleam from these last couple games.

I think anyone who watched a Vikings game the past several years KNEW Guion would be this bad.

Guess TT must have been dozing off when we played the Purple 7 times the past 3 years.

For anyone paying attention, Guion was terrible and remains terrible.

Guion at least seemed strong with the Vikings. He has not even been able to hold one blocker, let alone two. Not saying he was good with the Vikings, he was constantly reading the play wrong, and wasn't the best tackler. He has been absolutely horrible. Something even below average would make a big difference.

I would like to see the Pennel given a shot. I mean he is huge, and looked like he could occupy blockers in the pre-season. That doesn't neccesarily mean he will duplicate those results, but someone being able to keep an ilb clean would be a huge improvement.

He is definitely much more indecisive. The run blocking has left a lot to be desired, but he has got to get moving much quicker, sitting there is not going to get yards, hole, or no hole.

I don't think he necessarily is slower, I think he just isn't as decisive and therefore he is playing slower. He is not seeing the holes he should be hitting. His vision which was impressive last year isn't nowhere the same this year.

There was one run play where he tried bouncing it outside, and if he cut up, he easily would have had 4 yards. But he tried taking it outside, which he gets hit by the TE, and gets nothing for yardage.

It took awhile to get rolling last year, too. I'm fine with MM being pass happy now; the running game will roll when we have some crisp, cold air that make Lacy's bruising runs hurt. The defenders will wimp out and do more arm tackling.

"I don't think you realize the Packers played nickel D all day long. Not hard to run vs a D w/ only 2 DL, don't you think?" Dan DS 8:47 p.m.

"Agree its impossible to stop the run w/ 2 DL. I don't care if its Pickett and Raji on the DL. You can't expect to stop any running game w/ 2 DL, no matter who they are." DanDS 9:47

"The DL has no chance to stop run when capers plays mostly 2 DL . To many small bodies on field. Never seen a 4th and one with only two dl before." Gary 9:37

So, is it Guion = terrible? Is it scheme = terrible? One could argue that the two are not mutually exclusive. I just thought I would note that Guion's defense is contained in the comments condemning him. Bears had a lot of good runs off right guard and up the middle today.

I was at the game. How sweet it was!

Bear fans howled loudly at the personal foul calls on first (or second?) drive.

Kudos to Mac for going with the 2-2 personnel on first drive after being loudly criticized for going almost exclusively with 1-1 in previous games. Forced the Bears to roll one saftey down at minimum.

Where is Bostick? More 2-2 personnel seems like a winner.

Lovely to see Soldiers empty half way thru the 4th.

Even better to hear almost no trash talk post game. Believe it or not, Bear fans will trash talk even after a close loss. Yesterday, not so much.
