I thought Lang definitely was definitely "good." Grant, Wells and Hawk didn't look too bad either.
Tramone needs to calm down and take the punt returns straight up the field. He'll break some, but not by dancing around like Walter Stanley.

Well, since we are all bashing Minnesotans, let me just set the record straight from this border fan. Yes, there are alot of pack fans over here too, so please dont confuse us with Todd and others.

Let me first say, that this whole Brett Favre trashing is getting a little old. Im just as pissed off to see him in a purple jersey as you all, but for gods sake, he isn't the horrible person you all make him out to be. So what if it is revenge? Human nature, and I don't really feel the hatred like you all feel. I do, OTOH, feel sick to my stomach to know that he will forever go down as a Viking, when he was such a staple for the Packers organization. I am saddened to think that he wont be loved after his playing days are over. He doesn't hate you fan's, to think so is ridiculous, but he does obviously have something against TT and company, which is understandable. How do you think Unitas,Montana, and Broadway Joe felt when they were pushed out from their organizations.

To Todd, Jared Allen is one hell of an athlete, but he is NOT a rolemodel. Give me a break. Donald Driver is a role model, with a charity in his name, actively helping out in the community. Charles Woodson and Al Harris are role models, hard working players that aren't ever in the media for problems with the law. I could name plenty more, but to seriously think that Jared is a good guy is a bit puzzling.

One last tid-bit about Favre, you all know he has some great friends on this current team that love him as they always have, a guy named Driver comes to mind. I think if even his own former teamates don't hate him, why would you all? Like I stated earlier, I hate the purple just like you all, and I hate what transpired as well, but to hate a guy like him who always had fun and gave 15 plus years of memories. Dont let that go away, he will always be remembered as a Packer anyway.

IMO With the exception of penalties the Packers looked great the last two weeks.
Many Vikings backers on this site. They point out that Cleveland and the Lions are meaningless teams and spit their venom. Any football fan knows that regardless of record no team should be taken for granted. If the two teams the Packers played are so bad then why did Minnesota give up 533 yards in offense and 33 points to the same two teams that the Packers gave up 288 total yards and 3 points? That said, the overall focus is on this week's game.
Rodgers has a rating of 110.8 and Brett Favre is playing great with a 102.2. Minnesota's defense is 17th in yds and 17th in points given up while Green Bay's defense is 3rd in yardage and 6th in points per game. Minnesota's offense is 3rd in points and 12th in yardage per game while Green Bay's is 9th and 8th.

so whats toad have to say about that??

you know, i think i'm going to have to take the 'mosquito-in-the-tent' stance regarding the recent and unfortunate influx of idiocy from across the border.

this blog has been a respite from all the pissing-contest football website comment sections out there, and i'd like it to stay that way. todd and his ilk have nothing (so far) to offer but buzzing and crude middle-school jokes. the guy thinks jared allen -- a notorious dirty player, drunk-driving, racist, 27-year-old who giggles that his jersey number is 69 -- is a role-model for christ's sake.

so even though it's fun sometimes to fight back, really, it's just a waste of time, and it distracts us all from why we're spending our workdays here - to engage in a lively and informed discussion about the green bay packers.

so when the mosquitos start that annoying, high-pitched buzzing in my tent when i'm trying to fall asleep - i'm just going to ignore them and rest easy, knowing that when i wake up, i'll be just fine, and they're all still just tiny little purple bloodsuckers with no trophies.

Number 12 Packers Jersey - $80
Autographed Rodgers poster - $100
DVD of 2009 Packers Season - $20
Watching annoying, stupid, attention-starved fans like Todd In Minnesota get let down YET again by a paper champion - Abso-effing-lutely priceless.

Brett Favre will destroy your team. Have fun with that. The Packers are set up for short and long-term success, while the Vikes have hitched their hopes to a washed-up prima donna.

Todd - Holmgren left because he wanted total control, which was never going to happen in GB with Ron Wolf around, and because Paul Allen offered him a bazillion dollars. Plus, he very much wanted to get back to the West Coast, where he is from. He's never said anything other than the most complimentary things about the Green Bay organization and the town.

Per P. King

" I think Favre believes he'll have more than a few supporters in the stands. But a longtime Green Bay resident told me recently what he thinks, from talking to the townies, that the crowd will be almost entirely anti-Favre, and the sentiment will be loud. "

The goal is to boo him into using timeouts because signals cannot be heard.......... Welcome home, Brent.

Jared Allen, Drinking and driving happened in the past just like the packer success. Only difference is Jared doesn't stay in the past. Move on. Stop bringing up those Titles and pre 1950 wins.

Aaron - your telling me that Holmgren left because of health issues or because he wanted to be GM for Seattle. Because both are not even close to the truth. He gave up being GM in 2002. Three years later. He experience a lot tougher times in Seattle so couldn't be the health. The man wanted out of Packer nation. Can't blame the man Who won't.

The Jets released Favre but the Packers did everything possible to avoid having to play against him. Packers should have invited him back from retirement on one condition if he could pass a physical. The physical would have proved to Brett that he needed surgery on his arm before tempting to play again. The packers would have saved face with Brett. Too bad the origination doesn't know how to handle delicate situations. Remember Holmgren. Ouch..

I stand corrected: McCarthy on opening kickoff: Official right on it. Said ball hit turf first, and he was decisive with call. Explanation was ball hit turf and then pylon.

The Jets released Favre after he retired the second time, not the Packers. The damage has already been done to the Vikes organization. They've won enough to get Chili contract talks started, more seasons of mediocre coaching. They're starting to abandon the running game, no clock eating ball control offense at the end of games. QB prospects have been alienated or cut, leaving all hopes on a 40 year old who has faded late in the season.

Todd, we now have a more consistent, younger QB where we used to have a black hole who refused responsibility for losses. Thank YOU GUYS for signing him to continue the long legacy of Jokes dressed in Purple.

Oh, and Jared Allen is a good guy? I'll be sure that the next time I'm drunk, I hop in a car and drive, since that's what "good guys" do.

Jared Allen happens to be one of the good guys in the league. The man brings it to the table on every down. Plays for the team and makes a good role model for future players. I sense too much jealousy in this forum. Every one of you is hoping Brett Favre's arm fails because you all know if it doesn't this team could go far. I'm not preaching a Super Bowl because I don't even know what that is. No matter what happens this year. I thank the packer’s organization for releasing Brett to the Vikings. Thanks for the memories.
