Packers could have won themselves right out of a Top 10 draft pick by beating the Chargers. It's a rebuild year. Fans should not expect a playoff berth this season. The Packers will only get better by drafting better players, and a 7-10 or 8-9 record will put them in the middle of the round instead of at the top of each round.

Love and the young WRs are a positive for this team and will only get better. Musgrave is out, after spending time in the hospital this week, so he could be headed to IR. Aaron Jones is out for a few weeks, and Emanuel Wilson was carted off the field Sunday. This why the Packers signed Patrick Taylor to the active roster on Monday. Dontayvion Wicks has a concussion and could miss the Lions game.

The chances of beating the Lions on Thanksgiving are 0%. Ford Field will be on fire with a nationally-televised game, and the Lions will want to make a statement with a dominant win. It won't be pretty.

Lions notable ROIs for trading Matt Stafford:
QB Jared Goff (trade)
RB Jahmyr Gibbs (draft pick)
TE Sam LaPorta (draft pick)

After the loss to the Lions, the Packers will be 4-7 heading into their game against the Chiefs, on Sunday Night Football, most likely leaving them with a 4-8 record.

Cheer for former Packers QB Tim Boyle to lead the Jets to a loss against the Dolphins on Sunday. The worse the Jets record the higher the Packers 2024 RD2 draft pick from the AR12 trade. The Packers will need all the draft capital they can get for next season. (And, yes, I should write for CHTV to provide the non-winsome commentary.)

It is impossible for me to root against the Packers despite the fact it will theoretically weaken their draft. That said, losing this year does ease the pain somewhat in terms of next years draft. It is not like we are desperate at every position. Obviously another elite RB or OL wound be nice and maybe a safety who can play near the line, tackle and cover with the best of them . Remember we are the youngest team in the NFL. Tis best to look at the glass as half full.
