i'm not a packer fan. love the cowboys, but i live in chico,ca. so we root for aaron. when bret comes home....do us all a favor and do "NOTHING". show some class. green bay has always been a classy franchise. don't lose it now. it's a job...a business....you can't blame a guy for that. remember....you cut him...he wanted to stay...???

The Packers didn't cut him - HE RETIRED. Big difference.
October 20, 2009 at 11:46 am
We traded him.

I have always been a Packer fan. My son still has the sweater I bought him with the Green Bay Insignia on it. He was only 5 at the time, and is now 52. One thing I do not like is treating Bret Favre with disrespect. Everyone has a right to their decisions in life, and he probably made the right one. TREAT HIM WITH SOME DIGNITY AND RISE ABOVE YOUR IGNORANCE. Thank you for your consideration of a human being.

I've never been a Packer fan. Now I'm a Favre fan, baby!!!

You're comparing Brian to the Genie in Aladdin?High praise indeed. I should be able to tune in tonight, see you then!

Good catch, Holly!

The first play from scrimmage as a Vike at Lambeau for BF: .... The booing should be so loud that signals cannot be heard:..... Result: Time-out.... Vikes.
It would make my day.

I'll be there.
I'm gonna boo my ass off.
I pray that the boos will rain down but I have a feeling there will be a lot of "favre'ers" there... bet it's 50-50 which is sad.
That's the worst part about this whole thing... the division it has created between Packer fans.
-----
Watched last week's game at my dad's and realized he's actually a favre fan not a Pack fan anymore (the give away was all the channel flipping back and forth and the glee that followed the inevitable missed field goal). It was very disappointing. I have a feeling that's how it's gonna be at the game. I'm going to realize that a lot of people don't feel the way I do.
-----
Man, I hope he throws 6 picks and gets knocked around. But we all know what's gonna happen. He's gonna "go off" again.
-----
Oh well - GO PACK!

cow42 I like your style. when the ship is sinking stay with it. A miracle might come along and rescue you. Lets hope this time it stays with you also.
October 20, 2009 at 04:19 pm
What?
October 20, 2009 at 04:19 pm
Bear nation is upset that number 4 didn't cross over and play with them. That would of been fun also seeing 4 in a bears uniform. Too bad for the Packer puds.
October 20, 2009 at 04:21 pm
cow42 - Plain English the Packers are a team of the past. They're not going anywhere for the next 10-15 years like last time. Lynn Dicky days.
October 20, 2009 at 04:23 pm
Did you just refer to the Pack as a sinking ship?
And did you just rip me for staying with my team?
That's just silly.
This isn't a life or death thing. This is a football thing. I'm not gonna leave my team because it's got some issues. That'd be like leaving my wife because she snores. I'm committed. And I feel that the positives far outweigh the negatives. I will always be proud to be a Packer fan.
Some down years might weed out the band-wagoners anyhow.
October 20, 2009 at 04:26 pm
Oh - and the most fun I ever had as a fan in my life was being a kid and cheering for those Lynn Dickey teams. I look back at those years fondly.
October 20, 2009 at 04:29 pm
You're not from Wisconsin.
You wouldn't understand.
And I wouldn't be able to explain it to you.
October 20, 2009 at 04:33 pm
Those were the days when Old Tommy Kramer was killing the Green and Gold like a Pedestrian walking on the sidewalk after bar closing. Dickey always knew how to lose a game at will.
October 20, 2009 at 04:59 pm
Ah, yes.
How jealous I am of those viking teams of yesteryear. All those titles, all those trophies. It must be gratifying to root for a team with such a history of championship play.
October 20, 2009 at 05:45 pm
Todd, I distinctly remember one game where Dickey and the Packers beat the Vikings easilly and bless his heart, won me a bet and bragging rights right in the heart of Viking country. Eternally grateful to him for that. And then there was that win in County Stadiium. Yeah, that was a Tommy Kramer game.
As for Favre, now is not the time for any Packer fans to cheer him or make nice. There'll be time for that after he retires for real. They shouldn't be boorish, but a #4 on a punter and treating him with the indiffernce due a jouneyman opposing player at Lambeau is quite appropriate. Remember, he's coming to beat our team with everything he's got and learned as a Packer.
As for Rodgers, saw some incredible plays from him and if he continues to develope, wow. LeRoy Butler just wrote in his weekly report on JSonline that with just half the team penalties, Rodgers would be among the leading QBs right now. Hope he and the offense brings it November 1st. Keep BF and his Vikings on the bench collecting splinters.
A Viking fan earlier mentioned, that they'll be eyeing AR for future acquisition - wouldn't be surprised at all.
October 20, 2009 at 06:15 pm
Just pointing out the number of championship banners hanging at Lambeau Field versus the number hanging in Minn. is enough to convince even the uninformed football fan which franchise is truly "America's Team".

Only a Vike Fan would talk sh*t only six games into the season......... Talk about being set-up for the 'great fall'.

Cow42, I think it's more apt to say "You're Not A Packer Fan". I'm not from Wisconsin, and I hear you loud and clear.
October 21, 2009 at 08:47 am
Titles and championships yes I agree the fud Packers have a great number more than the Vikings but I won't replace all those great years of the Vikings for just one Title. In 24 seasons from 1968 to 1991, the Packers had only five seasons with a winning record (above .500), that is something I won't trade for. To be a Fud Packer you need those titles with out them the Packers would be in another state.
October 21, 2009 at 08:49 am
And just for the record I'm glad the Fud Packers are in Wisconsin. I love getting kicked out of those bars for talking trash. Go Vikings.

I think we should welcome back Brett Farvre with respect and dignity, after-all he has given the Packers alot. I think the idea of silence, is the thing the fans should do, so we look like mature adults and not like a bunch of packer idiots.
