He would make a great addition to Green Bay and would fill a major hole. The problem is the only way we get him is to pick him at #15. You could throw a blanket over Washington, Mayer, and Kraft and you will get the same production. All will be great TE in the league. The problem is You can probably get Kraft and Mayer and possibly Washington late in 1st round or early 2nd.

Tight end is the biggest need because we can't fill it in Free Agency. And it would be a stupid move on the Packers part to spend that #15 pick on Washington instead of trading back for more picks and taking the TE late 1st or early 2nd. That get us an extra 2nd and probably and extra 3 or 4. And then we fill 5 NEEDS on our roster with probable starters instead of 3. Yes you have to find a trade partner but they are always available. Seattle and New England work the draft like we should.

The Packers front office made a decision to not trade Rodgers last year for the "Kings Ransom" that would have jumpstarted the inevitable rebuild of this team. What a colossal franchise altering mistake. Someone should be canned if this draft is screwed up too.

Yes, but who saw 8-9 coming? Was the loss of Davante all it took?
I think a common take was that the D would be better than ever, ST with Bisaccia would be better, and they could lean on 33 and 28 until the rookie WRs got up to speed.

Aaaand, that’s not how it turned out.

I think this TE would be the best suited for the Packers because he is probably the best blocking TE in the draft. He also has great hands and is faster than the guy form Notre Dame. I like Edge to be the first pick but Darnell will likely not be available in the second round. He was not utilized much at Georgia but the talent is there.

Gutey will never get the TE position right.
After letting Tonyan go cheap.
I fear for another miss.
Especially since Washington missed time.

Get a blocking TE later on in rds 5-7. The only guys I would target are Kraft, Mayer and Kincaid. Somebody to break open the seams.

Tight end is like a big missing hole in our offense. It is a strength for good teams that have good TEs and use them to spread thin. I know we have missed on a couple of TE picks and I thought Sternberger was going to be decent, but this group this year is full of playmaking gamechangers. Thats what you expect when drafting a skill position player early, That they will play and make a difference in your offense. Watson was one of those gamechangers last year. I was thrilled when they drafted him and he should have been our second pick in the 1st round last year instead of Wyatt. I would have taken Travis Jones- DT U Conn in the 2nd round and saved the picks we gave up to trade up. TE is the #1 need this year and Washington or Kraft or Mayer would all be great picks, just not @ #15. Trade back and get more picks is the right business move to fill more holes and we could pick a second TE sooner then. Also the Jets just traded Moore for another 2nd rounder.

I am starting to think it might be a good trade to take both of their 2nd round picks this year, plus a 2nd next year and some players at positions of need, Edge, TE, Safety and get this deal done. The 2 2nd round picks are worth almost as much as the 1st round pick and maybe a later round pick next year as sweetener. I would ask for TE and Safety even if Jermaine Johnson is or isn't included in the trade. It lets them keep #13 which seems the sticking point and we get the best value we can get for Rodgers. We might have some leverage now but the longer we wait gives the opportunity for this to fall through and we potentially get nothing for Rodgers. To not move him after all this would be devastating for Green Bay and the longer this takes give the Jets more reason to maybe come up with an alternative plan if they don't have one already. Maybe a trade with another not mentioned team. Need to get it done to keep a disaster from happening.
