Ouch

What a way to wake up. I will obviously reserve judgment until I see the broadcast at 1PM EDT on NFL Network, but I certainly read Greg Bedard's post this morning with interest. Knowing that the Packers spent extensive time preparing for an opponent in preseason and then gave what seems by all accounts to be an inept performance, well, that is downright discouraging.

Ouch. Inept performance. Discouraging. That pretty much sums it up right there.

A setback, and painful to watch. It will be a long week. The Favre guys have begun to crawl out their holes and poke their heads out again.

It's still pre-season, nothing wrong with an early wakeup call that screams you suck, get with it.

The best choice for a winning season was Favre. Thompson is a stubborn, arrogant, aloof GM that only does what he wants. He was fired in Seattle for the same attitude, and the year after he was out of there, Seattle did a 360 and went to the playoffs.

Thompson is the main problem in Green Bay. He set up Mike Sherman for failure, and now some of those same traits from Sherman's last year are starting to show their ugly heads with McCarthy.

Thompson needs to Stop this insame love affair with Aaron Rodgers and let McCarthy handle the QB. Rodger's ego is so inflated from TT that AR thinks he can do anything. Bring in an experienced veteran QB so give the QB ranks some stability. #12, 11, 10 have no REAL SEASON experience. There is NO experienced leader in the QBs ranks.

Holmgren had enough of TT in Seattle to force his firing. Why can't Packer fans and executive committee members see what kind of a jerk TT really is. And open your eyes fans -- Mark Murphy can NOT fill Bob Harlan's shoes.

Thompson has squandered away veteran players since arriving, ran #4 out of town, and will field a 3-13 team this year. Why? The Packers are a good team, but their arrogant GM will destroy them with his ineffective "rookie" mentality.

This preseason is a prediction of a disasterous season, where once again TT will do absolutely NOTHING to help head his head coach. McCarthy is a good coach, but without help from the GM, his hands are tied. If MM was smart, he would start to question everything and stand up for the team. Take control of your team and install some rules and consequences for players not being effective. Butt-kissing to TT is not effective.

Yes, I was a Mike Sherman fan, but I have grown to like and RESPECT McCarthy. I dont want to see MM run out of town by TT because the problem started with the GM, not the HC.

Ron Wolf is back in town. Mark Murphy needs to have a serious conversation with him and seek his help in turning around a season headed for disaster.

BTW, Dante Culpepper wants to play for GB, and always has. He may have a major attitude, but when healthy -- he is a dangerous QB. He would be a great addition to shore up the ineffective QBs in GB, and might be enough pressure in camp to get Rodgers head out of the clouds and focus on leading this team. #12 can be a good QB, but surrounding him with inexperience with 2 rookie QBs will not do anything to boost his confidence level and go out and WIN!
