One Down, One To Go
By PackerAaron
The Packers have signed Clay Matthews.
As Silverstein and McGinn laid out yesterday, this was expected, as the firm representing Matthews, Athlete's First, (which also represents Raji) also represented the number 27 and 28 picks which had already signed.
The Raji signing could be a bit tougher, especially with the reported trouble with the Top 10 this year.
UPDATE: Apparently, Raji is in Green Bay, if his very seldom updated Twitter account is to be believed...

whew. I read in JSonline that Athletes first (agency for Raji and CM3) signed the 28th pick yestarday. One could speculate they're going down the line of their clients. Hopefully Raji is signed tomorrow or Saturday.
Does anyone know if it's likely he's going to report if he doesn't have a contract?

No way he reports, but hopefully he'll watch practice from across the street like Barnett did...

Once again - Agents are A HOLES! Make an honest offer on his perceived ability and value to the team. Then, let him respond with a counter. Work from there and get it done. I see no value in having a key player hold out at an important position.
There is no value in waiting for the Agents consortium to arrange the salries that fit into their schedules to maximize their revenue. If that doesn't work trade the butt hole.

Is their a nfl rule about drafted players training without a contract or is it a personal decision?

Players are not allowed to practice or train at the facility if they are not under contract once training camp starts.
