On The Positive Side...

  • I really liked Kampman moving around. Why did it take 16 weeks to try it?
  • Jermichael Finley made a freekin' play. I've given the kid a fair amount of grief, but that was a sweet route and catch. More of that please...
  • Deshawn Wynn was a beast in pass pro again and even caught a nine yard slant after being motioned out wide.
  • Aaron Rodgers looked absolutely at home in freezing temps. Bodes well for the future.
  • Look at that! Woodson, back at corner, you know, HIS POSITION, gets a pick!
  • So does Collins. (Man was I praying for the record to fall as he was weaving in and out of the Bear offense)
  • The return of the handshake! God I love it.
  • We ran a screen. In the red zone. For a touchdown.
  • If we could clone Donald Driver's heart and insert it into all the other players, the Packers would win the next three Super Bowls.
  • Ryan Pickett was an absolute beast last night. Where has that been all year?
  • That fake punt was sweet.
  • Aaron Rouse just leveled an offensive lineman on Woodson's interception. Beautiful.
  • Believe it or not, I am excited for next year.

There was a LOT to like about the way the Packers played last night. That's what makes the outcome so disheartening.

Rouse's pancake was a thing of beauty.

That loss gets a one pick closer to a better draft pick.Maybe Mc threw the game for a better pick. There are a couple nice DEs in the draft like that kid from Southern Florida.I don't want old players not unless they are bargains.Stay young and find out who can play and who cant and then pay them.Be pateint Packers fans the future a lot brighter than the Jets.

Allen Barbre's kick off return was a positive also. He didn't fumble and he moved the pile!

God that's what I love about Packers fans. Only Packers fans can see the positive in Allen Barbre returning a kickoff. Brilliant. And no sarcasm intended

Well said, Andrew - and great eyeballs, DaveK.

Actually, first-rounders don't usually pan out like one would expect - and Trader Ted knows this. I look for him to trade down, and increase the number of picks we have as he has done prior to last year's Draft.

We get 7 draft picks as a base count
We get yet another for Corey Williams
We one more for Brett Favre - that makes nine
I think we also get another from the NFL? - making 10

Pending Trader Ted opts to slide down into the 2nd round - we might well end up with 11 or 12 picks altogther. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised we end up with the highest number overall.

As for the game - knowing our Defense was hurt, it wasn't a stretch to see us lose. Not really. I hoped otherwise, but it didn't happen.

I'll say this - there were a few surprises in some of the play calls this time around. I saw a real crossing route (once) and at least two screen passes, aside from the one mentioned for a TD.

Maybe this whole season has been a fake out, for next year. Who knows.....

IPB - The Packers already received and used the pick they got for Williams. As far as a comp pick (from the NFL) Frank Walker signing with Baltimore was the only FA they lost. Not sure how much he'll be worth...
