Now It All Makes Sense…

Remember last year when Ryan Grant was holding out? Remember how maddening it was and how little sense it seemed to make? Well, guess who represents Nick Collins? That’s right, Sportstars, the same group the represents Grant.
Now it all makes sense.

Quite a discrepancy between 450k that Grant was tendered and 3 mil+ that Collins will make. But they could be just going back to the well as you infer
True, the numbers are vastly different, but the fact remains that Collins, like Grant last year, has ZERO leverage, other than to withhold services. Here’s hoping the Packers don’t cave again.
I’m not defending Collins, but there is also a discrepancy between length of service and body of work between Grant and Collins…in Collins’ favor. The whole Grant thing couldn’t have come at a worse time….terrible precedent set.
There’s also a discrepancy in the amount of douchebaggery (to quote our friends over at the Lounge) in regards to how they are approaching things in relation to, say, Jennings and his representation. Shut.Up. Show. Up. Play. You play well, you’ll get paid. But this whole “I’m upset because you won’t talk to me, even though I still have a year left on my contract” nonsense is just that – nonsense. Nick Collins, meet Javon Walker.
Night and day approach.

Sportstars? I don’t like your jerk-off name. I don’t like your jerk-off face. I don’t like your jerk-off behavior, and I don’t like you, jerk-off.
@FH, Grant to his credit, showed up for the team activities all offseason. Collins has not been there for anything. There’s nobody in the world that would have played for Grant’s tender after he performed like he did. I think the Packers did right by him and positive for the organization. I really DO hope we see more players that outperform minimum tenders like that. Jarrett Bush’s deal sours me.
FH – must it all end in Lebowski quotes? Think of all the other poor unfortunate Cohen Brothers films we are neglecting…
Moratorium on the Big Lebowski quotes is now in effect…for the time being.
I’m going to have to go watch Raising Arizona again.

bomdad, Grant played 8 freaking games for the Packers and was not at all team activities following the 2007 season. He took full advantage of the Favre fiasco to get his money.
