No Deal for Jermichael Finley in Seattle Yet

Former Green Bay Packers tight end and current free agent Jermichael Finley concluded his visit to Seattle without a contract offer from the Seattle Seahawks.

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com:

Per multiple league sources, Finley’s visit to Seattle ended on Thursday. It’s unclear whether an agreement will be reached. The primary purpose of the visit, we’re told, was to allow the Seahawks assess his current health.

Last year, Finley suffered a season-ending neck injury that required surgery. He explained in late January that clearance was expected in a matter of three or four weeks. He has not yet received a full, unequivocal green light, we’re told.

It’s unclear when Finley will receive clearance to return to football, and if so whether a team will be comfortable putting him back on the field. Finley nevertheless is committed to continuing his career, and we wish him the best as he attempts to get there.

It's weird, MM seemed so open to the idea of having Finley back. Have we even heard if Packer doctors have looked at Finley?

The Silence is defining around James Jones and Findley. I can understand both. Jones lost more than a step last year and looked barely average and Findley got his day in the sun in Seattle and I would be shocked to see them pick him up.

No one else has mentioned either name in any of the sports media. We have numerous people in that category including Flynn.

Were at the third tier level of players and there names are not bandied about. Just hope we use the rest of our money on those draft picks and not try to bring back a bunch of guys no one else wants either.

FYI... From what I read Finley is a done deal in Seattle, its just pending medical tests/conclusions.

Packers are and should let Jones take any contract he gets. His replacement is already in place. If he wants to come back on the cheap, vets min, type deal maybe he'll be re-signed. Good #2 WR, but we have 2 better and a 3rd as good.

Flynn's a good backup, whats your problem w/ that? He saved the season last year for the Pack!
