NFL Draft Analysis - WR AJ Green

AJ Green is considered by many to be the top wide receiver in the 2011 NFL Draft. Andrew Garda (froggy voice and all) breaks down why he's so highly regarded using examples from the 2010 Georgia/Auburn game.

There's not much debate around Green as the number one wide receiver in the 2011 NFL Draft. Yes, Alabama's Julio Jones is also an exceptional athlete but isn't quite on the level of Green.

Which isn't to say Jones isn't a fantastic player - really it's a matter of apples to oranges as they are very different receivers in many ways. Figure in the fruit analogy, both are high quality and either one would be great for your team.

As always, you can expect some growing pains with a rookie wide receiver. Still, Green is a smart player and I have no doubt that he will contribute early on in his NFL career.

It's unlikely that Green (or Jones for that matter) will be anywhere near a place the Packers could pick him up. Also, while he is a game changer, in no way is there any reason to trade up.

The best think Green Bay fans can do in terms of Green is hope he ends up as far away as possible. At least out of the NFC North and preferably out of the NFC altogether.

Agreed - that's the sweet spot for a WR for the Pack. I think this will be a defense/oline heavy first round or so and offensive value will fall to the end of the second and beginning of third.
