Newhouse Absent From Practice

A new name popped up on the list of players not participating in practice today:

Left tackle Marshall Newhouse.

From Rob Demovsky:

Marshall Newhouse was not at Packers practice today. Don’t believe it’s injury related but Sherrod worked in his place.

Late yesterday, Newhouse had indicated, via Twitter, that he was on a plane.

Why do the shortest people on planes get the exit row? Don’t they know I can beat them up? #largepeopleproblems

The fact that the Tweet above is so good natured and the fact that Sherrod took Newhouse’s reps makes me think Newhouse will be back and play on Sunday. If he was going to miss the game you’d have to think they’d slide Bulaga over to left tackle, rather than have Derek Sherrod make his first start against Jared Allen in the dome.

Obviously, we’ll have more when McCarthy speaks later this afternoon.

How come whenever I get stuck next to some giant on a plane its just an obese lady spilling over my armrest.

Hope all is well for Newhouse and he’s back to dominate Allen on Sunday.
