New Packers Draft Choice Elmore Supports Twin Brother

Cory Elmore has the support of his twin brother Ricky following heart surgery that interrupted his football career.

Green Bay Packers sixth-round draft choice Ricky Elmore and his twin brother Cory both received scholarships to play football at the University of Arizona coming out of high school.

Both redshirted in 2006, but that's when their paths diverged.

Doctors discovered an atrial septal defect in Cory––a hole in his heart–– and advised him to have surgery and lose weight, putting his future in football on hold.

But the surgery was successful, Cory is now into bodybuilding and attempting a comeback in football with the support of the new Packers outside linebacker.

"It was hard, but seeing what he's doing with his life now, he's a lot healthier," Ricky Elmore told Cheesehead TV at the NFL Combine. "The surgery went great. He's bodybuilding now; he's lost a lot of weight. He's just a lot happier now, mentally healthier, physically healthier. It makes me feel better that he's healthier."

More on their relationship comes from the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles...
