Pete Dougherty's piece in the Green Bay Press Gazette on the choices facing Ted Thompson in the upcoming NFL draft is well written but misguided. The whole supposed battle that is being waged in regards to 'need vs. value' is a false one, at least where Thompson is concerned.
I understand the need for a 'lede' and I completely sympathize with having to 'come up with something' but 'Need vs. Value'? Really? I think Thompson put that question to rest when he drafted Aaron Rodgers, and if not then, definitely when he drafted Justin Harrell, and if that didn't do it, he completely killed the asking of that question with the drafting of Jordy Nelson.
Thompson will take the best football player. Period.
